1 Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma inaugurated the first
Ramakrishna Mission College in Nongthymmai, Mawsai, Sohra. The college is the
first of its kind in Northeast India, marking a significant milestone in
educational development in the region. The Ramakrishna Mission is a spiritual
and charitable organization founded by Swami Vivekananda on May 1, 1897,
headquartered in Belur, near Kolkata. It is based on the teachings of
Ramakrishna Paramahamsa.

2 India and Israel signed
Terms of Reference (ToR) in Tel Aviv to launch negotiations on a Free Trade
Agreement (FTA). The ToR was signed by India's Commerce and Industry Minister
Piyush Goyal and Israel's Economy and Industry Minister Nir Barkat. The
agreement is a significant first step towards shaping a comprehensive free
trade agreement.

3 India has won the first
Blind Women's T20 World Cup title. They defeated Nepal by seven wickets in
Colombo. India remained unbeaten throughout the tournament. Fulla Sareen was
the top scorer for India. The final was played at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium
in Sri Lanka. Like regular cricket, each team consists of 11 players, but at
least four players must be completely blind. For fairness, players must wear
blindfolds.

4 The
Government of India has appointed Sandip Pradhan as a new full-time member of
the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). He was currently serving as
Director General of Income Tax (Investigation) in Pune. His tenure will be for
three years. The Finance Ministry notified this appointment on November 19,
2025, under the SEBI Act, 1992.

5. The
government is implementing a major administrative overhaul to reorganize Delhi,
expanding the number of revenue districts from 11 to 13, and increasing the
number of subdivisions (SDM offices) from 33 to 39. These changes are aimed at
simplifying the administrative system and providing better and faster services
to citizens. Two new districts, Shahdara North and Shahdara South, will be
created.

6. The National One Health Mission Assembly
2025 is being hosted by the Department of Health Research (DHR) under the theme
“One Earth, One Health, One Future.” The event brings together various
ministries, experts, and academics to highlight India's leadership role in the
One Health approach—an integrated approach to human, animal, and environmental
health.

7 The Ministry of Finance
is considering a merger of Oriental Insurance, National Insurance, and United
India Insurance. This move comes after significant government capital infusions
have improved their financial position. The government had previously
considered this merger but later postponed it. Now, improved financial
position, along with efficiency and scale, are key factors in this potential
merger. Privatization of a general insurance company is also being considered.

shuttler Lakshya Sen has won the Australian Open Super 500 badminton tournament
title. He defeated Japan's Yushi Tanaka in the final played in Sydney on
November 23. This is Lakshya Sen's first title of this year. The Australian
Open Super 500 is a badminton tournament, which was previously Super 300
(2018-2022) and from 2023 it is a Super 500 level event. It is an international
competition held in Australia and is part of the BWF (Badminton World
Federation) World Tour.

9. India, Australia, and
Canada have jointly launched a new trilateral initiative, the
Australia-Canada-India Technology and Innovation Partnership. The partnership
was announced following a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi,
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Canadian Prime Minister Mark
Carney at a summit in Johannesburg. The initiative aims to enhance cooperation
in areas such as clean energy, robust and diverse supply chains, including
critical minerals, and artificial intelligence.

10 The Government of India
will release a new series of national accounts on February 27, 2026, with the
base year being 2022–23. The Ministry of Statistics and Programme
Implementation (MoSPI) has taken this decision to make national economic
statistics more accurate, relevant, and timely. The Advisory Committee on
National Accounts Statistics (ACNAS), chaired by Prof. B.N. Golder, has been
constituted to prepare the new series.
