'UP Diwas' to be celebrated on January 24
The Uttar Pradesh government decided to celebrate ‘UP Diwas’ on January 24, by showcasing the state’s rich cultural heritage.
The United Provinces unit was renamed as Uttar Pradesh on on January 24, 1950.

Bembem, Jeje nominated for Arjuna
The legendary Oinam Bembem Devi, Jeje Lalpekhlua, and Gurpreet Sandhu have been nominated for the Arjuna Awards this year by the All India Football Federation (AIFF).
The 36-year-old Bembem called time on her illustrious international career at the end of the South Asian Games last year in Shillong, and an Arjuna will be a fitting reward for her services to the game, the AIFF felt.

Rajive Kaul gets diplomatic service award from South Korea
Chairman of Nicco group and past president of CII Rajive Kaul was conferred with the Order of Diplomatic Service Merit Sungnye Medal of the Republic of Korea for his services rendered as honorary consul general of South Korea in Kolkata.
The award was conferred by the acting President and Prime Minister of South Korea Hwang Kyo-ahn at a programme in New Delhi recently.
