IBPS RRB Selection Process

For those interested in a lucrative banking career, the best option is to attempt the exams The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection conducts to recruit Group A officers and Group B Office Assistants in the branches of Regional Rural Banks. However, before preparing for the exams, you need to be thorough with the IBPS RRB Selection Process. The Stages in the IBPS RRB Selection Process


The IBPS shortlists the best candidates based on their performance in the stages, the Prelims, Mains, and Interview round.

  1. Prelims Exam

  • Cut-off as set by IBPS to qualify for Main Exam.  


The Prelims exams results for PO are published a month after exam completion and will be available on the official website. 


  1. Main Examination

Only candidates clearing the Prelims exam based on the IBPS cut-off can qualify for the Mains exam.


Features:


  • There will be five sections based on the post, including English/Hindi Language, General Knowledge, Computer Knowledge, Reasoning, and Numerical Ability/Quantitative Aptitude.

  • 200 Multiple-choice questions - 200 marks.

  • Time duration - 2 hours.

  • Negative marking of 0.25 marks for wrong answers.

  • If applying for Office Assistant, you will be called for provisional allotment on clearing the exam.

  • If applying for Officer Scale-I, you will qualify for the Interview Round on clearing this exam.

Single Online exam

This exam is for candidates applying for Officer Scale-I (General Banking Officer and Specialist Cadre) and Officer Scale-III. The IBPS RRB syllabus will be similar except for some extra questions based on the professions,


Features:


  • Relative to the post, there will be different sections.

  • Wrong answers will invite a 0.25 mark penalty.

  • Total marks - 200.

  • Candidates passing will qualify for an interview.


  1. Interview Round

Candidates applying for Officer Scale I, II, and III positions will be called for the IBPS RRB interview sessions.


Features:


  • Only candidates clearing the Mains exam or Single online exam will qualify for interviews. The interview will carry 100 marks.

  • You need to get a minimum of 40% marks ( 35% for OBC, SC/ST, PwD) in this interview round.

  • The provisional allotment is based on total available vacancies and merit-cum-preference consideration.
