3. S Gopakumar joins United India Insurance as Director & GM
Public sector non-life insurance firm United India Insurance Company announced the appointment of S Gopakumar as its Director and General Manager with immediate effect.
Prior to taking up the new role, Gopakumar was serving GIC Housing Finance Ltd as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, a company statement said.

5. Trump nominates Indian-American law professor to agency on privacy and civil liberties
US President Donald Trump has nominated a prominent Indian-American law professor and legal expert Aditya Bamzai to an agency on privacy and civil liberties.
According to Bamzais profile on the university website, he teaches and writes about civil procedure, administrative law, federal courts, national security law and computer crime.
He joined the University of Virginia School of Laws faculty as an associate professor in June 2016.
Bamzai has argued cases relating to the separation of powers and national security in the U.S. Supreme Court, Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court of Review, D.C. Circuit and other federal courts of appeals.

6. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India launches integration & availability of TRAI Mobile Apps on UMANG platform
Policy initiatives of TRAI, over the years, have been to protect the interests of the consumers. Recognizing the importance of reaching out to the consumers and to safeguard their interests, TRAI has now integrated its Mobile Apps namely DND 2.0 & MyCall with UMANG Platform.
UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) is developed by National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). UMANG provides a single platform for all Indian Citizens to access pan India e-Gov services ranging from Central to Local Government bodies and other citizen centric services. It provides a unified approach where citizens can install one application to avail multiple government services. From now onwards, TRAI’s Mobile Appsnamely DND 2.0 &MyCall shall also be available on Umang Platform.
