introduced tabletop rumble strip road markings on a 2-kilometer stretch of
National Highway-45 (NH-45) that passes through the Veerangana Durgavati Tiger
Reserve. This special technique aims to control the speed of vehicles on the

3 Ponduru Khadi from the
Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh has received a Geographical Indication
(GI) tag. This hand-woven fabric is primarily made from a short-staple,
hill-grown, pest-resistant variety of cotton cultivated locally in the region.
The cotton used enables chemical-free farming, promoting sustainable
agriculture and the region's traditional eco-friendly production methods.
Ponduru Khadi holds a special place in history. In 1921, these fabrics caught
the attention of Bapu (Mahatma Gandhi), who was impressed by their quality.
Gandhiji even wrote an article about it in the 'Young India' magazine.

5. Chandigarh
University has become the first Indian university to win the Khelo India
University Games for two consecutive years. Performance in KIUG 2025: Secured
the top position in the 5th KIUG 2025 (held in Rajasthan) by winning a record
42 gold, 14 silver, and 11 bronze medals (a total of 67 medals). This
performance surpassed their KIUG 2024 achievement (32 gold medals) and set a
new record for the highest number of gold medals won by any university since
the inception of KIUG in 2020.

6. The Bison Horn Maria dance was performed during a village festival
in Judia Para, Bastar district, Chhattisgarh. This dance is traditionally
performed by the Dandami Maria (Maria/Gaur Maria) tribe of Bastar. Both men and
women participate in this dance during village festivals and important
community occasions. Deities such as
Buddhadev and Danteshwari Mai are invoked during this dance.

7 The Ministry of Coal has appointed B. Sairam as the new Chairman
and Managing Director (CMD) of Coal India Limited (CIL). The appointment was
announced on December 15, 2025, entrusting the leadership of the world's
largest coal producer to an experienced mining professional. Coal India Limited
(CIL) is a central public sector undertaking (CPSU) under the Ministry of Coal
and is the world's largest coal producing company. Coal India Limited (CIL) was
established in November 1975 as a holding company with the objective of
managing and developing India's coal industry.

8. HDFC Bank
has received permission from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to allow its group
entities to hold up to a 9.50% stake in IndusInd Bank. This permission was
granted through a letter issued on December 15 and will be valid for one year,
until December 14, 2026. The RBI stated that the total shareholding should not
exceed 9.50% of IndusInd Bank's paid-up share capital or voting rights at any
time. Since the combined investment of its group entities was expected to
exceed the previous limit of 5%, the bank had applied to the RBI for an
increase in the permitted investment limit.

9. India's largest public
sector bank announced in a regulatory filing on Monday that it has appointed Ravi
Ranjan as its Managing Director, effective December 15, 2025. According to the notification issued under
the powers conferred by the State Bank of India Act, 1955, Ranjan will hold the
position until his retirement on September 30, 2028, or until further orders,
whichever is earlier.

10 India has achieved a
historic milestone towards technological self-reliance with the launch of
DHRUV64. This is the country's first fully indigenous 1.0 GHz, 64-bit dual-core
microprocessor. It was developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced
Computing (C-DAC) under the Microprocessor Development Program (MDP). This
processor is considered a significant step towards strengthening India's
domestic semiconductor design ecosystem.
