1 The Government of India launched the Global Index for Reforms
and Growth (GIRG) initiative to accelerate reforms and development in the
country. It will monitor India's performance on selected global indices to
identify gaps and guide evidence-based reforms. It will track 26 global indices
across four broad themes (economy, development, governance, and industry).
These indices are published by 16 international agencies.

2 Child marriage cases in
Madhya Pradesh have seen a sharp increase of 47% since 2020, with Damoh
district emerging as the worst hotspot in 2025. Despite awareness campaigns,
the number of child marriage cases in the state is expected to rise from 366 in
2020 to 538 in 2025. Damoh alone will account for 21% of all child marriages in
2025, rising from 33 cases in 2024 to 115 in 2025.

3 State Bank of India
(SBI) and Bank of India (BoI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
to collaborate on a Centre of Excellence in Strategic Partnership for Project
Financing. The partnership aims to enhance leadership and expertise in project
financing with a focus on innovation and teamwork in the banking sector.

4 Finland
will organise roadshows in major Indian cities to raise awareness about the
circular economy (CE) and explore business opportunities ahead of India hosting
the World Circular Economy Forum 2026. The circular economy is a sustainable
model that focuses on the reduction and elimination of waste at every stage of
a product's life cycle, from raw material extraction to disposal and reuse.

5. Uttar
Pradesh reported the highest number of complaints regarding financial
irregularities and poor quality of work under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). JJM
was launched in 2019 as a centrally sponsored scheme aimed at improving access
to drinking water in rural India. The scheme is administered by the Department
of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) under the Ministry of Jal Shakti.

6. The 46th Gulf Cooperation Council summit concluded in Manama, with
leaders adopting the Sakhir Declaration and reaffirming their commitment to
deeper political, security, and economic integration. Gulf Cooperation Council
(GCC), political and economic alliance of six Middle Eastern countries—Saudi
Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman. The GCC was
established in May 1981 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

7 The Indian Army has successfully test-launched the BrahMos
supersonic cruise missile, further strengthening the country's long-range
strike capability. The test, conducted on December 1 from a range in the Bay of
Bengal, tested the missile's accuracy and the Army's readiness in combat-like
conditions. The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile is manufactured by BrahMos
Aerospace, a joint venture between India and Russia.

Draupadi Murmu will address as the chief guest at a special function organized
by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India at Bharat Mandapam on
the occasion of Human Rights Day on December 10. The theme for Human Rights Day
2025 is "Human Rights, Our Everyday Essentials." Human Rights Day is
celebrated every year on December 10, the anniversary of the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights, adopted in 1948.

Hifzur Rahman as its ambassador to Libya. Hifzur Rahman is currently the Indian
ambassador to the Republic of Chad. Libya is a country located in North Africa,

major oil-producing country in Africa.

announced significant upgrades to Uttarakhand's early-warning systems. WSDM

"Strengthening International Cooperation for Building Resilient
Communities".
