1 In 1987, the Rajiv Gandhi government sent the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) to end the civil war between the Tamil and Sinhala communities in Sri Lanka. Its purpose was to disarm Tamil militant groups like the LTTE and establish peace. However, the LTTE broke the agreement and clashed with the Indian Army. This operation, which lasted from October 1987 to March 1990, was called Operation Pawan. For the first time tomorrow (November 26), Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi will personally pay tribute to these heroes at the National War Memorial.

1987 में राजीव गांधी सरकार ने श्रीलंका में तमिलों और सिंहला समुदाय के बीच चल रहे गृहयुद्ध को खत्म करने के लिए भारतीय शांति सेना (IPKF) भेजी। इसका मकसद लिट्टे (एलटीटीई) जैसे तमिल उग्रवादी संगठनों को हथियार डलवाना और शांति स्थापित करना. लेकिन लिट्टे ने समझौते को तोड़ दिया और भारतीय सेना से ही भिड़ गया. अक्टूबर 1987 से मार्च 1990 तक चले इस अभियान को ही ऑपरेशन पवन कहा गया। पहली बार कल (26 नवंबर) को सेना प्रमुख जनरल उपेंद्र द्विवेदी खुद राष्ट्रीय युद्ध स्मारक (नेशनल वॉर मेमोरियल) पर इन वीरों को श्रद्धांजलि देंगे।

2   The Haile Gubbi volcano is located in the Rift Valley, a region of intense geological activity where two tectonic plates meet. Located in Ethiopia's Erta Ale range, the volcano last erupted about 10,000 to 12,000 years ago. The ash cloud is traveling thousands of kilometers toward India and Pakistan. Aviation authorities have issued new guidelines as the ash plume moves higher into the atmosphere and toward Asian countries India, Pakistan, and across the Red Sea toward Yemen and Oman.

हेली गुब्बी ज्वालामुखी रिफ्ट वैली में स्थित है, जो तीव्र भूगर्भीय गतिविधि वाला एक क्षेत्र है जहाँ दो टेक्टोनिक प्लेटें मिलती हैं।   इथियोपिया के एर्टा एले रेंज में स्थित इस ज्वालामुखी में आखिरी बार लगभग 10,000 से 12,000 साल पहले विस्फोट हुआ था। राख के बादल हजारों किलोमीटर का सफर तय करके भारत और पाकिस्तान की ओर आ रहे हैं। विमानन अधिकारियों ने नए दिशानिर्देश जारी किए हैं क्योंकि राख का गुबार वायुमंडल में ऊपर की ओर और एशियाई देशों भारत, पाकिस्तान और लाल सागर के पार यमन और ओमान की ओर बढ़ रहा है।

3 The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is establishing 10 all-women border posts along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), promoting gender inclusion in border security. The force was established on October 24, 1962, after the Sino-Indian War. The ITBP operates as a Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Its motto is "Valour-Drita-Karma Nishtha."

भारत-तिब्बत सीमा पुलिस (ITBP), वास्तविक नियंत्रण रेखा (LAC) पर 10 पूर्णतः महिला-प्रधान सीमा चौकियाँ स्थापित कर रही है, जिससे सीमा सुरक्षा में लैंगिक समावेशन को बढ़ावा मिलेगा। इस बल की स्थापना भारत-चीन युद्ध के बाद 24 अक्टूबर 1962 को हुई थी। ITBP गृह मंत्रालय (MHA) के अधीन एक केंद्रीय सशस्त्र पुलिस बल (CAPF) के रूप में कार्य करता है। इसका आदर्श वाक्य "शौर्य-दृढ़ता-कर्म निष्ठा" है।

 4 Italy won their fourth Davis Cup title by defeating Spain 2–0 at home. Italy became the first team since the United States to win three consecutive Davis Cups. The Davis Cup is the premier international team competition in men's tennis. It is organized by the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The competition began in 1900 as a challenge between Great Britain and the United States.

इटली ने घरेलू मैदान पर स्पेन को 2–0 से हराकर अपना चौथा डेविस कप खिताब जीता। इटली संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के बाद लगातार तीन डेविस कप जीतने वाली पहली टीम बन गई। डेविस कप पुरुषों की टेनिस में प्रमुख अंतरराष्ट्रीय टीम स्पर्धा है । यह अंतर्राष्ट्रीय टेनिस महासंघ (आईटीएफ) द्वारा आयोजित किया जाता है।  यह प्रतियोगिता 1900 में ग्रेट ब्रिटेन और संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के बीच एक चुनौती के रूप में शुरू हुई थी ।

 5. Supreme Court judge Justice Vikram Nath has been named as the next acting chairman of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA). The nomination was made by President of India Draupadi Murmu. Earlier, the post was held by Justice Surya Kant, who was sworn in as the 53rd Chief Justice of India (CJI). CJI Surya Kant named Supreme Court judge Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari as the new chairman of the Supreme Court Legal Services Committee (SCLSC).

सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के न्यायाधीश न्यायमूर्ति विक्रम नाथ को राष्ट्रीय विधिक सेवा प्राधिकरण (NALSA) का अगला कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष नामित किया गया है। यह नामांकन भारत की राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू द्वारा किया गया। इससे पहले यह पद न्यायमूर्ति सूर्यकांत के पास था, जिन्होंने भारत के 53वें मुख्य न्यायाधीश (CJI) के रूप में शपथ ली। सीजेआइ सूर्यकांत ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट के न्यायाधीश जितेंद्र कुमार माहेश्वरी को सुप्रीम कोर्ट विधिक सेवा समिति (एससीएलएससी) का नया अध्यक्ष नामित किया।

 6. New executive directors have been appointed at Union Bank of India, Central Bank of India, and Bank of India. Amresh Prasad has joined Union Bank of India. E. Ratan Kumar is now on the board of Central Bank of India. Pramod Kumar Dwivedi has assumed charge at Bank of India. These appointments were formalized through a government notification.

यूनियन बैंक ऑफ इंडिया, सेंट्रल बैंक ऑफ इंडिया और बैंक ऑफ इंडिया में नए कार्यकारी निदेशकों की नियुक्ति की गई है। अमरेश प्रसाद यूनियन बैंक ऑफ इंडिया में शामिल हुए हैं। ई. रतन कुमार अब सेंट्रल बैंक ऑफ इंडिया के बोर्ड में शामिल हैं। प्रमोद कुमार द्विवेदी ने बैंक ऑफ इंडिया में पदभार ग्रहण किया। इन नियुक्तियों को एक सरकारी अधिसूचना के माध्यम से औपचारिक रूप दिया गया।

 7 Methane is a potent greenhouse gas, contributing the second-largest share to global warming after CO₂. India is the third-largest emitter of methane after China and the United States, accounting for about 9% of the global total. The United Nations Environment Programme's (UNEP) Global Methane Status Report 2025, released at the COP30 summit, shows how rapidly methane emissions are increasing.

मिथेन एक शक्तिशाली ग्रीनहाउस गैस है, जो वैश्विक ताप वृद्धि में CO₂ के बाद दूसरा सबसे बड़ा योगदान देती है। भारत, चीन और अमेरिका के बाद मिथेन का तीसरा सबसे बड़ा उत्सर्जक है, जिसकी वैश्विक हिस्सेदारी लगभग 9% है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र पर्यावरण कार्यक्रम (UNEP) की ग्लोबल मिथेन स्टेटस रिपोर्ट 2025, जिसे COP30 शिखर सम्मेलन में जारी किया गया, यह दिखाती है कि मिथेन उत्सर्जन किस तेजी से बढ़ रहा है।

 8. The Indian women's Kabaddi team has won the Women's Kabaddi World Cup 2025 title in Dhaka. So far, the Women's Kabaddi World Cup has been held twice and both times Indian women Kabaddi players have won the title. A total of 11 countries participated in this tournament. They defeated Chinese Taipei in the final by a score of 35–28. The first Women's Kabaddi World Cup was held in Patna in 2012, while the second edition will be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2025.

भारतीय महिला कबड्डी टीम ने ढाका में महिला कबड्डी वर्ल्ड कप 2025 का खिताब जीत लिया है. अब तक महिला कबड्डी वर्ल्ड कप का आयोजन दो बार हुआ है और दोनों बार भारतीय महिला कबड्डी खिलाड़ियों ने खिताब पर कब्जा किया है। इस टूर्नामेंट में कुल 11 देशों ने हिस्सा लिया। उन्होंने फाइनल में चीनी ताइपे को 35–28 के स्कोर से हराया। पहला महिला कबड्डी विश्व कप 2012 में पटना में आयोजित किया गया था, जबकि दूसरा संस्करण 2025 में बांग्लादेश के ढाका में आयोजित किया गया था।

 9. Rohit Sharma has been named the brand ambassador for the T20 World Cup 2026. India won the T20 World Cup last year under his captaincy. ICC Chairman Jay Shah announced that Rohit Sharma will be the brand ambassador for the tournament. The upcoming T20 World Cup 2026 will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. A total of nine tournaments have been played so far. The inaugural 2007 World Twenty20 was held in South Africa.

रोहित शर्मा को टी20 वर्ल्ड कप 2026 का ब्रांड एंबेसडर बनाया गया है. उनकी कप्तानी में ही भारत ने पिछले साल टी20 वर्ल्ड कप जीता था. आईसीसी चेयरमैन जय शाह ने ऐलान किया कि इस टूर्नामेंट के ब्रांड एंबेसडर रोहित शर्मा होंगे. भारत और श्रीलंका की संयुक्त मेजबानी में  आगामी टी20 विश्व कप 2026 का आयोजन किया जायगा। अब तक कुल 9 टूर्नामेंट खेले जा चुके हैं । उद्घाटन 2007 विश्व ट्वेंटी20, दक्षिण अफ्रीका में आयोजित किया गया था।

10   The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka in February 2026. The Indian leg of the tournament will be played at five premier venues known for their atmosphere and world-class facilities: Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi Eden Gardens, Kolkata MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai A total of 20 teams have qualified for the 2026 edition, making it one of the most competitive T20 World Cups ever.

आईसीसी पुरुष टी20 विश्व कप 2026 की मेजबानी भारत और श्रीलंका फरवरी 2026 में संयुक्त रूप से करेंगे। टूर्नामेंट का भारतीय चरण पांच प्रमुख स्थानों पर खेला जाएगा जो अपने वातावरण और विश्व स्तरीय सुविधाओं के लिए जाने जाते हैं: अरुण जेटली स्टेडियम, दिल्ली ईडन गार्डन्स, कोलकाता एमए चिदम्बरम स्टेडियम, चेन्नई नरेंद्र मोदी स्टेडियम, अहमदाबाद वानखेड़े स्टेडियम, मुंबई। 2026 के संस्करण के लिए कुल 20 टीमों ने क्वालीफाई किया है, जिससे यह अब तक के सबसे प्रतिस्पर्धी टी20 विश्व कप में से एक बन गया है।
