2025, continuing its tradition as South Asia's only FIAPF-accredited
competitive film festival. Japan is the focus country, screening six
contemporary films, Spain will be the partner country, and Australia will be

2 The United States has launched Operation SOUTHERN SPEAR to
target and eliminate narco-terrorists in Latin America. The operation is led by
SOUTHCOM (US Southern Command), which oversees 31 countries in South America,
Central America, and the Caribbean. The mission's objectives include protecting
the US homeland and eliminating narco-terrorist threats in the Western
Hemisphere.

3 Ambaji marble has been
granted a Geographical Indication (GI) tag by the central government. This
marble has a mining history dating back 1,200–1,500 years, dating back to the
era of the Dilwara Jain Temples in Mount Abu. It is known for its milky white
color, durability, high calcium content, and natural beauty. It is found
primarily in the Banaskantha district of northern Gujarat.

4 The eighth
edition of the India-UK joint military exercise "Ajeya Warrior-25"
commenced today at the Foreign Training Node, Mahajan Field Firing Range,
Rajasthan. The 14-day bilateral exercise is being conducted from 17 to 30
November 2025. Held bi-annually since 2011, Ajeya Warrior has evolved into a
major engagement between the Indian Army and the British Army. The 2025 edition
further strengthens the shared values of professionalism, cooperation and
commitment to regional stability and global peace.

5. Bangladesh
has officially been admitted as the fifth member at the 8th DNSA-level meeting
of the Colombo Security Conference (CSC). The CSC was launched in 2020 when
India, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives expanded their trilateral maritime
cooperation framework. Current members: India, Sri Lanka, the Maldives,
Mauritius, and Bangladesh; Seychelles participates as an observer.

6. The 2025 Asian Archery Championships will
be the 24th edition of the Asian Archery Championships, organized biennially by
World Archery Asia. It is scheduled to be held in Bangladesh. At the 2025 Asian
Archery Championships, the Indian team achieved its best-ever performance,
winning 10 medals, including six gold.

7 National Press Day,
celebrated on November 16, marks the establishment of the Press Council of
India. The Working Journalists Act, 1955, along with recent reforms such as the
Press and Periodicals Registration Act, 2023, protects journalists' rights and
modernizes media regulation. The PRP (Press and Periodicals Registration Act)
2023 and the Press Seva Portal modernize and digitize periodical registration.

8. Finance
Commission members, led by Chairman Dr. Arvind Panagariya, met with President
Draupadi Murmu. The Commission presented its report for the period 2026-2031 to
President Draupadi Murmu. The Finance Commission is a constitutional body
established under Article 280 of the Indian Constitution to define the fiscal
relations between the Union and the States and to recommend the distribution of
tax revenues.

9. SpaceX successfully
launched NASA's Sentinel-6B satellite on Monday. The satellite is designed to
monitor rising sea levels. Sentinel-6B is an Earth-observing satellite
developed by NASA in collaboration with US and European partners. Its primary
mission is to study the world's oceans and measure changes in sea levels.

the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating Armenia 9-1 in their final World Cup
qualifier at the Estádio do Dragao in Porto on Sunday. The FIFA World Cup is an

de Football Association). It is held every four years. FIFA is headquartered in
Zurich, Switzerland.
