1 Singapore named the island where Zubeen Garg tragically died
"Zubeen Garg Island" on Google Maps in honor of his global impact.
Garg, 52, died in a scuba diving accident during a boat trip. A renowned
Assamese singer, composer, and actor, Garg began singing at the age of three
and released his first album, "Anamika," in 1992.

2 The Border Roads Organisation (BRO)'s Project
Himank has constructed the world's highest motorable road at the Mig La Pass in
Ladakh, located at an altitude of 19,400 feet above sea level. This new record
surpasses the previous record set at Umling La (19,024 feet) in 2021. The road
is part of the Likaru-Mig La-Phukche route and holds strategic importance. The
Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is a premier Indian construction organisation
established on 7 May 1960, and functions under the Ministry of Defence.

3. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan attended and
addressed the Makhana Festival in Patna. A 'Center of Excellence' was launched
in Bihar to focus on quality control and value addition of makhana production.
The "Makhana to the World - From Culture to Prosperity" report was
also released during the event. India ranks first in the world in makhana
production and meets 80% of the world's demand, with Bihar being the largest
producer.

4. Lenskart,
India's leading eyewear company, has received regulatory approval from the
Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for its initial public offering
(IPO). This will be India's first exclusive eyewear IPO. The company received
this approval with a target date of early October 2025, making it one of the
largest new companies to go public this year. Lenskart began operations as an
online business in 2010 and opened its first retail store three years later.

5. The Election Commission
of India announced the dates for Bihar's 243 assembly seats (38 reserved for
Scheduled Castes and 2 reserved for Scheduled Tribes), sparking a political
uproar in the state. Bihar's assembly elections will be held in two phases.
Voting for 121 seats will take place in the first phase on November 6th, and
for 122 seats in the second phase on November 11th. November 14th will be the
day of the election results. The elections will be held among a total of 74.3
million voters, including 39.2 million male and 35 million female voters.
भारत निर्वाचन आयोग ने आज सोमवार को बिहार की 243 विधानसभा
सीटों (38 SC, 2 ST आरक्षित) के लिए तारीखों का ऐलान कर दिया है,
जिसने राज्य की
सियासत को उबाल पर ला दिया है। बिहार में दो चरणों में विधानसभा चुनाव होने जा रहा
है। पहले चरण में 121 सीटों पर 6 नवंबर को एवं दूसरे चरण में 122 सीटों पर 11
नवंबर को मतदान होगा। वहीं 14 नवंबर चुनावी नतीजों का दिन होगा। 3.92 करोड़ पुरूष
एवं 3.50 करोड़ महिला मतदाताओं को मिलाकर कुल 7.43 करोड़ मतदाताओं के बीच आयोजित होंगी।
6. India finished 10th in the medal tally at
the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships with a total of 22 medals. Indian
athletes won 6 gold, 9 silver, and 7 bronze medals for the country. Brazil
topped the medal tally with a total of 44. China finished second with 52
medals. Iran finished third with a total of 16 medals. The event was held in
New Delhi, India, from September 27 to October 5, 2025, at the Jawaharlal Nehru
Stadium.

7. Three
scientists from the United States and Japan have been awarded the 2025 Nobel
Prize in Physiology or Medicine for their breakthrough discoveries on the
immune system. The Nobel Assembly at the Karolinska Institutet announced that
the prize will be awarded jointly to Mary E. Brunko (United States), Fred
Ramsdell (United States), and Shimon Sakaguchi (Japan). The prize of 11 million
Swedish kronor will be divided equally among the winners.

8. India has
achieved unprecedented success in controlling leprosy. According to government
data, the prevalence rate of leprosy per 10,000 population in the country has
declined by 99% in the last 44 years, while the number of patients under
treatment has declined by 98%. Leprosy, also known as Hansen's disease, is a
chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae bacteria. Its
symptoms include skin discoloration, loss of touch and pain, muscle weakness,
deformities of the limbs and face, inability to close the eyes, and vision
impairment.

the BWF World Junior Championships are returning to India, marking a major

Pune in 2008.

10. The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is hosting the
10th edition of the National Pollution Response Exercise (NATPOLREX-X), which
is being conducted off the coast of Chennai, Tamil Nadu on 05-06 October 2025.
This two-day exercise is designed to assess and enhance India's national
preparedness to deal with marine oil spill incidents.
