1 Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav inaugurated the NIELIT Digital University (NDU) platform to provide accessible digital education across India. It aims to expand technical education in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, and semiconductors to underserved areas. Five new NIELIT centers were inaugurated in Muzaffarpur, Balasore, Tirupati, Lunglei, and Daman.

2 Ashish Pandey has been appointed MD and CEO of
Union Bank of India. He previously served as executive director at Bank of
Maharashtra. Kalyan Kumar has been appointed MD and CEO of Central Bank of
India. He was executive director at Punjab National Bank (PNB). Both
appointments are for three-year terms, approved by the Appointments Committee
of the Cabinet (ACC).

3. The Interstellar Mapping and Acceleration Probe (IMAP) has been
launched to study the heliosphere and detect energetic particles. Objectives:
To map the heliosphere boundary and study the solar wind, energetic particles,
and magnetic fields; to understand the energization of solar particles and how
the heliosphere protects Earth from galactic radiation. Location: Located at
Earth-Sun Lagrange point 1 (L1).

4. India has
been awarded the International Social Security Association (ISSA) Award 2025
for Outstanding Achievement in Social Security. Union Labour and Employment
Minister Mansukh Mandaviya received the award at the ISSA World Social Security
Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The award highlights India's digital public
infrastructure and rapid expansion of social security coverage.

5. The Adarsh Yuva Gram
Sabha (MYGS) initiative will launch in October 2025. Its objective is to raise
awareness among school students about Panchayati Raj and grassroots democracy.
Collaboration: Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Education, and Tribal Affairs. To
train rural and tribal students to prepare a new generation of informed
citizens focused on local governance and social justice.

6. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has
granted in-principle approval to the Finance Industry Development Council
(FIDC) as a self-regulatory organization (SRO) for the non-bank lending sector.
FIDC, a premier industry body for non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), will
now play a key role in self-regulation of the NBFC sector after receiving final
approval from the RBI. An SRO is a body responsible for regulating the conduct
and compliance of its members.

7. Under the
new system, checks will no longer be processed in fixed batches. Banks will
continuously scan and send checks during the presentation session, which runs
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Each check will now be settled on a near-real-time
basis, reducing the clearing cycle from the current T+1 days to a few hours. In
Phase 1 (October 4, 2025 – January 2, 2026), banks will be required to confirm
checks by 7 p.m.; otherwise, the check will be automatically approved.
In Phase 2 (from January 3, 2026), banks will have only 3 hours to
confirm each check. For example, checks received between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
will need to be confirmed by 2 p.m. Once settlement is complete, the presenting
bank will release funds to customers within 1 hour, subject to normal security
measures.
नई प्रणाली के तहत, चेक अब निश्चित बैचों में संसाधित नहीं होंगे। बैंक सुबह 10

8. The
Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed a fine of ₹5 lakh on
Drishti IAS (VDK Eduventures Pvt Ltd) for publishing a misleading advertisement
regarding the results of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil
Services Examination (CSE) 2022. Drishti IAS had prominently claimed in its
advertisement that “over 216 candidates passed in UPSC CSE 2022” along with the
names and pictures of successful candidates. After investigation, the CCPA
found that the claim was misleading and concealed crucial information about the
type and duration of courses opted by these candidates.
केंद्रीय
उपभोक्ता संरक्षण प्राधिकरण (CCPA) ने संघ लोक सेवा आयोग (UPSC) की सिविल सेवा परीक्षा
(सीएसई) 2022 के परिणामों के संबंध में भ्रामक विज्ञापन प्रकाशित करने के लिए
दृष्टि आईएएस (वीडीके एडुवेंचर्स प्राइवेट लिमिटेड) पर 5 लाख रुपये का जुर्माना
लगाया है। दृष्टि आईएएस ने अपने विज्ञापन में सफल उम्मीदवारों के नाम और चित्रों
के साथ “यूपीएससी सीएसई 2022 में 216 से अधिक उत्तीर्ण होने का प्रमुखता से दावा

द्वारा चुने गए पाठ्यक्रमों के प्रकार और अवधि के बारे में महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी
छिपाई गई थी।
9. The Financial Services
Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has recommended the appointment of Ramakrishnan
Chander as the Managing Director (MD) of state-owned Life Insurance Corporation
of India (LIC). The final decision on the FSIB's recommendation will be taken
by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. Chander was appointed Chief
Investment Officer (CIO) in June 2025. The top management of LIC includes four
MDs besides the MD and CEO. Currently, R Doraiswamy is the MD and CEO of the
corporation.

10. To enhance self-reliance in the agricultural
sector, the Union Cabinet approved a six-year program called “Mission
Self-Reliance in Pulses” on October 1, 2025. The initiative will run from
2025-26 to 2030-31 and has a budget of ₹11,440 crore. The mission aims to
increase domestic pulse production to 35 million tonnes, reduce dependence on
imports, and ensure income for approximately 20 million farmers. Despite being
the world's largest producer and consumer of pulses, India still depends on
imports for approximately 15–20% of its demand.
कृषि क्षेत्र में आत्मनिर्भरता बढ़ाने के लिए, केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने 1 अक्टूबर 2025 को “मिशन आत्मनिर्भरता इन पल्सेस” नामक छह वर्षीय कार्यक्रम को मंजूरी दी। यह पहल 2025‑26 से 2030‑31 तक चलेगी और इसका बजट ₹11,440 करोड़ है। मिशन का उद्देश्य घरेलू दालों का उत्पादन 350 लाख टन तक बढ़ाना, आयात पर निर्भरता कम करना, और लगभग 2 करोड़ किसानों की आय सुनिश्चित करना है। भारत दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा दाल उत्पादक और उपभोक्ता होने के बावजूद अपनी मांग का लगभग 15–20% हिस्सा आयात पर निर्भर है।
