1. India has developed its first indigenous antibiotic, naphthromycin, which is effective against resistant respiratory infections, especially in cancer patients and those with poorly controlled diabetes. The antibiotic was developed in collaboration between the Department of Biotechnology and private pharmaceutical company Wockhardt. The antibiotic has been specifically developed to treat respiratory infections that have become resistant to existing drugs.

2. The Centre has launched a ₹600 crore 'Cotton Revolution Mission' to promote the cultivation of high-yielding, long-staple cotton, with a focus on scientific research, technological innovation and extension services. The mission aims to provide farmers with better seeds and advanced technology, with plans to replicate the successful high-density plantation (HDP) method in Maharashtra's Akola in other suitable areas.

3. NITI Aayog's Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) and DP World have jointly launched a new initiative called 'We Rise' to empower women-led micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The initiative aims to help Indian women entrepreneurs access and expand global markets. It will operate under an 'Award to Reward' (ATR) framework. 100 women entrepreneurs will be prepared for export and will have the opportunity to showcase their products at the Bharat Mart in Dubai.

नीति आयोग के महिला उद्यमिता मंच (WEP) और डीपी वर्ल्ड ने मिलकर महिला-नेतृत्व वाले सूक्ष्म, लघु और मध्यम उद्यमों (MSME) को सशक्त बनाने के लिए 'वी राइज' (We Rise) नामक एक नई पहल शुरू की है। इस पहल का उद्देश्य भारतीय महिला उद्यमियों को वैश्विक बाज़ार तक पहुँचने और उनका विस्तार करने में मदद करना है। यह 'अवार्ड टू रिवॉर्ड' (ATR) ढांचे के तहत काम करेगा।   100 महिला उद्यमियों को निर्यात के लिए तैयार किया जाएगा और उन्हें दुबई में स्थित भारत मार्ट (Bharat Mart) में अपने उत्पाद प्रदर्शित करने का अवसर मिलेगा।

4. Zoravar Singh Sandhu created history by winning the bronze medal in the men's trap event at the ISSF World Championship Shotgun 2025 held in Athens, Greece. This is India's third medal in men's trap shooting at the World Championships, before this Manavjit Singh Sandhu had won gold in Zagreb 2006 and Karni Singh had won silver in the 1962 Cairo Championship.

5. The Indian Junior Men's Hockey Team won the silver medal in the Sultan of Johor Cup in the final played on October 18, 2025 in Malaysia. Australia defeated India 2-1 in a thrilling final. The Sultan of Johor Cup is an international men's under-21 field hockey tournament held in Malaysia. The tournament was started in 2011. India also won the tournament in 2022 when they defeated Australia to win their third title.

मलेशिया में 18 अक्टूबर, 2025 को खेले गए फाइनल में भारतीय जूनियर पुरुष हॉकी टीम ने सुल्तान जोहोर कप में रजत पदक जीता। रोमांचक फाइनल मुकाबले में ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने भारत को 2-1 से हराया। सुल्तान जोहोर कप मलेशिया में आयोजित होने वाला एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय पुरुष अंडर-21 फील्ड हॉकी टूर्नामेंट है।इस टूर्नामेंट की शुरुआत 2011 में हुई थी। भारत ने 2022 में भी यह टूर्नामेंट जीता था, जब उन्होंने ऑस्ट्रेलिया को हराकर अपना तीसरा खिताब हासिल किया।

6. Bathou religion, the traditional religion of the Bodo community of Assam, will get a separate code in the upcoming national census. Union Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed that Bathou religion will be included as a separate religion in the national census. In February 2025, the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) government had approved the inclusion of Bathouism as a religion in application forms for educational institutions and government documents. Deeply rooted in nature worship, Bathou religion promotes harmony between humans and nature.

7. The Ministry of Mines has released the State Mining Readiness Index (SMRI) to assess and benchmark the performance of states in non-coal mineral mining reforms and facilitation. The index promotes transparency, efficiency, and sustainability, and fosters competitive federalism in the mining sector. Category A (mineral-rich states): Top three - Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.

8. Trans rights activist Akkai Padmashali has been appointed to a Supreme Court committee tasked with formulating an equal opportunity policy to protect transgender rights. She becomes the first transgender person from Karnataka to be included in a Supreme Court-appointed committee—a significant milestone for inclusivity and representation in national policymaking. 9. The 11th India International Science Festival (IISF) will be held in Chandigarh from December 6-9, 2025, on the theme "Science for Prosperity: A Self-Reliant India." IISF is India's flagship science outreach initiative, uniting scientists, students, innovators, and the general public to promote scientific awareness and collaboration. It was first held in 2015.

10. The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) celebrated its 9th Foundation Day on October 17, 2025, at its campus in New Delhi. AIIA is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of AYUSH. The institute was established in 2015 and dedicated to the nation in 2017. Objective: The institute was established to integrate Ayurveda with modern treatment methods and techniques.

अखिल भारतीय आयुर्वेद संस्थान (एआईआईए) ने 17 अक्टूबर, 2025 को नई दिल्ली स्थित अपने परिसर में अपना 9वां स्थापना दिवस मनाया। एआईआईए आयुष मंत्रालय के तहत एक स्वायत्त संगठन है। 2015 में संस्थान की स्थापना की गई थी, और 2017 में राष्ट्र को समर्पित किया गया था। उद्देश्य: इस संस्थान की स्थापना आयुर्वेद को आधुनिक उपचार पद्धतियों और तकनीकों के साथ एकीकृत करने के लिए की गई थी।
