1 India will host the 8th session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly from October 27 to 30, 2025, at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. ISA is an intergovernmental treaty-based organization established by India and France at COP21 held in Paris in 2015. ISA is headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana, India. As of September 2025, the International Solar Alliance (ISA) has 107 members, with Moldova joining on August 4, 2025.

भारत 27 से 30 अक्टूबर, 2025 तक नई दिल्ली के भारत मंडपम में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सौर गठबंधन (ISA) सभा के 8वें सत्र की मेज़बानी करेगा। ISA एक अंतर-सरकारी संधि-आधारित संगठन है, जिसकी स्थापना भारत और फ्रांस ने 2015 में पेरिस में आयोजित COP21 में की थी। ISA का मुख्यालय गुरुग्राम, हरियाणा, भारत में स्थित है। सितंबर 2025 तक अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सौर गठबंधन (ISA) के 107 सदस्य हैं, जो कि मोल्दोवा के 4 अगस्त, 2025 को शामिल होने से हुए हैं।

2   Sherry Singh was crowned Mrs. Universe 2025 at the 48th edition of the prestigious pageant held in Manila, Philippines. She defeated over 120 talented women from around the world and made India proud by winning the country's first-ever Mrs. Universe crown. The Mrs. Universe pageant is one of the oldest and most prestigious international pageants for married women.

मनीला, फिलीपींस में आयोजित इस प्रतिष्ठित प्रतियोगिता के 48वें संस्करण में शेरी सिंह को मिसेज यूनिवर्स 2025 का ताज पहनाया गया। उन्होंने दुनिया भर की 120 से अधिक प्रतिभाशाली महिलाओं को मात दी और देश के लिए पहली बार मिसेज यूनिवर्स का ताज हासिल करके भारत को गौरवान्वित किया। मिसेज यूनिवर्स प्रतियोगिता विवाहित महिलाओं के लिए सबसे पुरानी और प्रतिष्ठित अंतरराष्ट्रीय प्रतियोगिताओं में से एक है।

 3. Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Prahlad Joshi attended the 90th Foundation Day celebrations of the National Sugar Institute (NSI) in Kanpur as the chief guest. Joshi announced the launch of regular B.Tech and M.Tech courses related to the sugar industry, which will be conducted by NSI in collaboration with IIT Kanpur. The National Sugar Institute (NSI) was established in Kanpur in 1936. It was established on the foundation of the Imperial Institute of Sugar Technology.

केंद्रीय उपभोक्ता मामले, खाद्य एवं सार्वजनिक वितरण मंत्री प्रह्लाद जोशी ने कानपुर में राष्ट्रीय शर्करा संस्थान (NSI) के 90वें स्थापना दिवस समारोह में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में भाग लिया। जोशी ने चीनी उद्योग से संबंधित नियमित बी.टेक और एम.टेक पाठ्यक्रम शुरू करने की घोषणा की, जो NSI द्वारा IIT कानपुर के सहयोग से संचालित किए जाएँगे। राष्ट्रीय शर्करा संस्थान (NSI) की स्थापना 1936 में कानपुर में हुई थी। यह इंपीरियल इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ शुगर टेक्नोलॉजी की नींव पर स्थापित किया गया था।

 4. The Nobel Peace Prize 2025 has been awarded to María Corina Machado “for her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy”, the Swedish Academy announced on Friday (October 10, 2025).

 5. Union Minister Kirti Vardhan Singh launched India's National Red List Roadmap at the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Abu Dhabi. India is one of the 17 megadiverse countries in the world, home to four of the 36 global biodiversity hotspots: the Himalayas, the Western Ghats, Indo-Burma, and Sundaland. Although India has only 2.4% of the world's land area, it has approximately 8% of the global flora and 7.5% of the global fauna, with 28% of its plants and over 30% of its animals being endemic.

केंद्रीय मंत्री कीर्ति वर्धन सिंह ने अबू धाबी में आयोजित आईयूसीएन विश्व संरक्षण कांग्रेस में भारत के राष्ट्रीय लाल सूची रोडमैप का शुभारंभ किया।  भारत दुनिया के 17 महाविविध देशों में से एक है, जहाँ 36 वैश्विक जैव विविधता हॉटस्पॉट में से चार स्थित हैं: हिमालय, पश्चिमी घाट, इंडो-बर्मा और सुंडालैंड। हालाँकि भारत में दुनिया का केवल 2.4% भू-भाग स्थित है, फिर भी इसमें वैश्विक वनस्पतियों का लगभग 8% और वैश्विक जीवों का 7.5% मौजूद है, जिसमें 28% पौधे और 30% से अधिक जानवर स्थानिक हैं।

 6. Palau, an island nation in the Pacific Ocean, hosted the world's first live underwater interview to raise awareness about ocean conservation. This unique underwater chat was made possible thanks to LiFi talking mask technology, which uses light to transmit sound underwater. Palau, an archipelago of 340 islands, is extremely vulnerable to rising sea levels.

 7.  The government has opened opportunities for private sector candidates for top management positions in public sector banks, including the country's largest lender, the State Bank of India (SBI). One of the four managing director positions at SBI is open to private sector candidates and individuals employed in public sector financial institutions. So far, all MD and chairman positions have been filled by internal candidates. Candidates must have a minimum of 21 years of experience, including at least 15 years of banking experience and at least 2 years of experience at the bank board level.

 8. Fiji has launched its first National Child Protection Policy, which sets a new national standard for child protection across all sectors of society. The policy ensures that all child-related services are provided in a safe, respectful, and child-friendly manner. The policy aims to prevent harm and protect children amid growing regional concerns in the Pacific.

 9. The University of Oxford has retained its position as the world's top university, achieving excellence in research quality, teaching and international reputation. India has achieved its strongest performance with 128 universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026. Not a single Indian institution has made it to the prestigious list of the world's top 100 universities this year. The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore continues to lead in India in the 201-250 rank band.

 10.  Justice Soumen Sen is the new Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court. He assumed office on October 8, 2025, after being appointed by the President of India and recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium. Prior to this appointment, Justice Sen was a judge of the Calcutta High Court. The Meghalaya High Court was established in 1972, when Meghalaya attained full statehood. However, it currently falls under the jurisdiction of the Gauhati High Court.

न्यायमूर्ति सौमेन सेन मेघालय उच्च न्यायालय के नए मुख्य न्यायाधीश हैं। उन्होंने भारत के राष्ट्रपति द्वारा नियुक्त और सर्वोच्च न्यायालय कॉलेजियम द्वारा अनुशंसित होने के बाद 8 अक्टूबर, 2025 को पदभार ग्रहण किया। इस नियुक्ति से पहले, न्यायमूर्ति सेन कलकत्ता उच्च न्यायालय में न्यायाधीश थे। मेघालय उच्च न्यायालय की स्थापना 1972 में हुई थी, जब मेघालय को पूर्ण राज्य का दर्जा मिला। हालाँकि, वर्तमान में यह गुवाहाटी उच्च न्यायालय के अधिकार क्षेत्र में आता है।
