1 Sudhanshu Vats was appointed Chairman of the Advertising Standards
Council of India (ASCI) ahead of its 40th anniversary. S. Subramanyameshwar was
appointed Vice Chairman and Paritosh Joshi was appointed Honorary Treasurer.
ASCI will launch the Advice program to teach 10 lakh students to identify
misleading advertisements and understand consumer rights. ASCI will expand its
presence in Bengaluru and New Delhi.

2 Qatar has become the eighth country to accept
UPI payments. The rollout is underway at Qatar Duty Free at Hamad International
Airport. The partnership is between NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL),
Qatar National Bank (QNB), and NETSTARS. UPI offers real-time, cashless, and
secure payments for Indian tourists. This is expected to benefit Qatar's retail
and tourism sectors.

3. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has launched a new e-Sign
feature on its ECINET portal and app to verify voter identity using
Aadhaar-linked phone numbers. ECINET is an integrated digital platform designed
by the Election Commission to simplify and streamline various electoral
processes. The platform aims to serve as a single-point interface for all
election-related services.

Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar hosted a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of
the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) in New York. Launched
by India in 2014, FIPIC comprises 14 Pacific Island Countries (PICs) – Cook
Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, Palau,
Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.

5. The Ministry of AYUSH
has launched the first-of-its-kind integrated neuro-rehabilitation center,
“Prayas,” at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa. This
multidisciplinary center brings together Ayurveda, physiotherapy, yoga, speech
therapy, occupational therapy, and modern pediatrics under one roof. It is
specifically dedicated to children facing neurological and developmental
challenges. This initiative by the Ministry of AYUSH exemplifies the
integration of traditional knowledge and modern medicine. “Prayas” is not just
a health center, but a symbol of care, compassion, and holistic treatment.

6. President Draupadi Murmu on Friday
presented the National Geoscience Awards 2024 for outstanding contributions in
the field of geosciences. The National Geoscience Awards have been instituted
by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, with the objective of honouring
individuals and teams for exceptional achievements and outstanding contributions
in various fields of geosciences. Our country is surrounded by oceans on three
sides. The depths of these oceans contain deposits of many valuable mineral
elements. Geologists play a vital role in harnessing these resources for the
nation's development.

7. The Indian
Air Force (IAF) on Friday bid farewell to its legendary fighter aircraft
MiG-21, which served as a vital part of the country's air power for 63 years.
On this historic occasion, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to the
aircraft and described it as a symbol of courage, sacrifice and national pride.
Recalling the 1971 war, he said, "Who can forget when the MiG-21 attacked
the Governor House in Dhaka and the outcome of that war was decided that very day."
The MiG-21 was inducted into the Indian Air Force in 1963 and it protected the
country for 63 years.
भारतीय वायुसेना (IAF) ने आज शुक्रवार को अपने दिग्गज लड़ाकू विमान मिग-21 को
विदाई दी, जिसने 63 वर्षों तक देश की हवाई शक्ति का अहम हिस्सा बनकर

वायुसेना में शामिल किया गया था और इसने 63 वर्षों तक देश की रक्षा की।
8. The 84th
Foundation Day of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) was
celebrated on September 26, 2025. The main event was held in New Delhi, with
Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh as the chief guest. The Council of Scientific
and Industrial Research (CSIR) was established on September 26, 1942, as an
autonomous body with a history that predates India's independence. It was
founded to promote scientific and industrial research, based on the belief that
science could solve the nation's problems.

9. India's veteran
off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has created history by becoming the first
Indian male cricketer to sign a contract with a Big Bash League (BBL) team. He
will represent Sydney Thunder in the upcoming BBL 2025-26 season, breaking a
long-standing barrier in Indian cricket. Until now, the Board of Control for Cricket
in India (BCCI) had barred active Indian male players from participating in
foreign T20 leagues. While Indian women have been playing regularly in the
Women's Big Bash League (WBBL), the male players were only participating in
domestic and IPL.

10. Ahmedabad will host the 11th Asian Aquatics
Championships in 2025, marking the first time the event will be held in India.
The event will be held in September/October 2025 and will include sports such
as swimming, diving, artistic swimming, and water polo. It will be held at the
Veer Savarkar Sports Complex. This will be the first Asian Aquatics
Championships held in India. It will also serve as a qualifier for the 2026
Asian Games. Approximately 1,000 athletes from over 30 countries are expected
to participate.
अहमदाबाद 2025 में 11वीं एशियाई एक्वेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप की मेजबानी करेगा, जो भारत में पहली बार आयोजित होने वाली यह चैंपियनशिप है. यह आयोजन सितंबर/अक्टूबर 2025 में होगा और इसमें तैराकी, डाइविंग, कलात्मक तैराकी और वाटर पोलो जैसे खेल शामिल होंगे. वीर सावरकर स्पोर्ट्स कॉम्प्लेक्स में इसे आयोजित किया जायगा। यह भारत में पहली बार आयोजित होने वाली एशियाई एक्वेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप है. यह 2026 एशियाई खेलों के लिए क्वालीफायर के रूप में भी काम करेगी. इस प्रतियोगिता में 30 से अधिक देशों के लगभग 1000 एथलीटों के भाग लेने की उम्मीद है।
