Ganguly was re-elected unopposed as the President of the Cricket Association of
Bengal (CAB). He succeeds his brother Snehasish Ganguly, who held the post for
nearly three years. This is Ganguly's second term as CAB President, having held
the position from 2015 to 2019. Ganguly served as BCCI President from 2019 to
2022 and is currently serving as the Chairman of the ICC Men's Cricket
Committee since 2021.

3. Uttar Pradesh will host the 19th National Jamboree of the Bharat
Scouts and Guides at the Vrindavan campus in Lucknow from November 23-29, 2025.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the event on November 24. Uttar
Pradesh previously hosted the fourth edition in 1964. Prime Minister Modi has a
long association with Scouting, having participated in the 2009 Jamboree held
in Ahmedabad.

6. The Index of Eight Core Industries grew
by 6.3% year-on-year in August 2025. Steel (14.2%), coal (11.4%), cement
(6.1%), and fertilizers (4.6%) witnessed strong growth, indicating positive
momentum in infrastructure and construction. The Index of Eight Core Industries
measures the combined and individual performance of production of India's eight
major industrial sectors: coal, crude oil, natural gas, refinery products,
fertilizers, steel, cement, and electricity. It is an important component of
the Index of Industrial Production, a key indicator of overall industrial
activity.

Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the ₹42,000 crore
Mahi-Banswara Nuclear Power Plant in Banswara district of Rajasthan. The Mahi
Banswara Rajasthan Atomic Power Plant (MBRAPP) is a proposed nuclear power
plant to be built on an area of 1,366.49 acres (553.00 hectares) near
Banswara district of Rajasthan. The project will have an installed capacity of
2800 MW. The Atomic Energy Regulatory Board approved the project on 9 May 2025.

42,000 करोड़ रुपये की लागत वाला माही-बांसवाड़ा परमाणु संयंत्र का शिलान्यास

8. India
plans to allow more foreign investment in public sector banks. The current
limit is 20%. The government wants to strengthen these banks. This will help
them raise more capital. The government will retain at least a 51% stake. This
will ensure that the banks remain public. The aim is to make them globally
competitive.

9. The Reserve Bank of
India (RBI) has urged banks to intensify efforts to return over ₹67,000 crore
of unclaimed deposits to their rightful owners. Unclaimed deposits include
dormant savings and current accounts, matured fixed deposits, unclaimed
dividends, interest warrants, and insurance proceeds. Unclaimed fixed deposits
within ten years are classified as unclaimed deposits and subsequently
transferred by banks to the DEA fund operated by the central bank. The Udgam
portal is a centralized online platform launched by the RBI that helps the
public find their unclaimed deposits across various banks in India.

10. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has cancelled
the Certificate of Registration (CoR) of New Delhi-based non-banking financial
company (NBFC) Datta Finance and Trading Private Limited. Datta Finance
violated the Code of Conduct guidelines in the outsourcing of financial
services, especially digital lending. The central bank cited the NBFC's
improper outsourcing of its core functions to third-party service providers.
