1 The IMD World Competitiveness Ranking 2025 places Switzerland at
the top, followed by Singapore and Hong Kong, with India ranking 41st out of 69
economies. The index, released by the International Institute for Management
Development (IMD) in June 2025, assesses economies across four key pillars:
economic performance, government efficiency, business efficiency, and infrastructure.

2 The
Election Commission has made significant changes to the rules governing the
design and printing of EVM ballot papers to enhance voter convenience and
clarity. This amendment was made under Rule 49B of the Election Rules, 1961.
Under these new provisions, candidates' photographs will now be printed in
color on the ballot paper, with their faces occupying three-quarters of the
image for clear and easy identification. Candidate and NOTA numbers will now be
written in international Indian numerals. Their font size will be 30 and bold,
making them clearly visible to voters.
चुनाव आयोग ने वोटरों की सुविधा और स्पष्टता बढ़ाने के लिए
ईवीएम बैलेट पेपर के डिजाइन और प्रिंटिंग से जुड़े नियमों में बड़ा बदलाव किया है।
यह संशोधन चुनाव नियम 1961 के नियम 49B के तहत किया गया है। इन नए प्रावधानों के तहत उम्मीदवारों
की तस्वीरें अब बैलेट पेपर पर रंगीन रूप में छपी होंगी और चेहरा तस्वीर के
तीन-चौथाई हिस्से में होगा ताकि वह साफ और आसानी से पहचाना जा सके। अब उम्मीदवारों
और ‘नोटा’ (NOTA) के क्रमांक अंतरराष्ट्रीय भारतीय अंकों के रूप में लिखे
जाएंगे। उनकी फॉन्ट साइज 30 और बोल्ड होगी ताकि मतदाताओं को स्पष्ट रूप से दिखाई
दे।
3. IRDAI has officially launched the much-awaited Insurance Sugam
portal, aiming to revolutionize India's insurance landscape. This one-stop
digital marketplace seeks to increase transparency and efficiency for
consumers, insurance companies, and intermediaries. Insurance Sugam will enable
policyholders to compare and purchase various insurance policies, as well as
provide features such as claim settlement and policy renewal.

4. The
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is establishing a Regulatory Review Cell (RRC) by
October 1, 2025, to systematically review its regulations every five to seven
years. To enhance stakeholder engagement, an independent Advisory Group on
Regulation (AGR) comprising external experts has been constituted. The RRC will
be established in the Department of Regulation from October 1, 2025, and will
review regulations in a phased manner.

5. India and Mauritius have
signed a landmark agreement to establish a satellite tracking and
communications center near Diego Garcia, the US-British military base in the
Chagos Archipelago. The move will further strengthen India's strategic presence
in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) amid growing Chinese maritime activities. The
Chagos Archipelago is strategically located between East Africa, the Middle
East, and South Asia.

6. Vaishali Rameshbabu won the FIDE Grand
Swiss tournament for the second consecutive time. She secured her victory by
drawing the final round against former women's world champion Tan Zhongyi in
Uzbekistan. In the last edition, India won both the men's and women's titles at
the FIDE Grand Swiss, with Vidit Gujrathi winning the men's title. This is her
second consecutive victory in the tournament, a historic achievement. This is
the first time a player has won the tournament twice.

7. Muzaffarpur
(Bihar) secured the first position in the Inspire Award 2025 by submitting a
total of 7,403 innovative student ideas. Vaishali, Bihar, secured the sixth
position with 5,805 ideas, reflecting the growing emphasis on science education
in the state. The Inspire Award – MANAK scheme aims to encourage innovation
among students in classes 6 to 10 and support original, socially relevant
ideas.

8. The
Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India,
will organize the "Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma and National Scheduled
Caste-Tribe Hub Mega Conclave" on September 17, 2025, at the International
Convention Center in Bodhgaya, Bihar. This event is being organized to
commemorate the second anniversary of the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana.
The scheme has a 100% enrollment target. The Ministry of Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship, through NSDC, has provided basic skills training to over 2.27
million Vishwakarmas.

सरकार 17 सितंबर 2025 को बिहार के बोधगया स्थित अंतर्राष्ट्रीय कन्वेंशन सेंटर में
'प्रधानमंत्री विश्वकर्मा और राष्ट्रीय अनुसूचित जाति-जनजाति
हब मेगा कॉन्क्लेव' का आयोजन करेगा। यह कार्यक्रम
प्रधानमंत्री विश्वकर्मा योजना की दूसरी वर्षगांठ के उपलक्ष्य में आयोजित किया जा
रहा है। इस योजना का शत प्रतिशत पंजीकरण
लक्ष्य है। कौशल विकास और उद्यमिता मंत्रालय द्वारा एनएसडीसी के माध्यम से 22 लाख
70 हज़ार से अधिक विश्वकर्माओं को बुनियादी कौशल प्रशिक्षण प्रदान किया गया है।
9. The Department of Posts
(DoP) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi today to expand BSNL's mobile connectivity
across India. The MoU aims to bridge the digital divide, empower rural
households with mobile services, and advance the broader goals of Digital India
for financial inclusion and socio-economic development. Under this, the
Department of Posts will leverage its postal network of over 1.65 lakh post
offices across the country to sell BSNL SIM cards.
डाक विभाग (डीओपी) और भारत संचार निगम लिमिटेड (बीएसएनएल)
ने आज नई दिल्ली में पूरे भारत में बीएसएनएल की मोबाइल कनेक्टिविटी का विस्तार

10. At least four major banks HDFC Bank, Axis
Bank, SBI, and AU Small Finance Bank along with several online payment
aggregators are preparing to go live on Netbanking 2.0, a new interoperable
netbanking switch developed by NPCI Bharat BillPay Ltd. (NBBL). The official
launch is expected by RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra at the Global Fintech Fest
2025 (Oct 7–9).
