1. NDA candidate and Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan on
Tuesday defeated India Block's B Sudarshan Reddy to become the next Vice
President of India. The NDA-backed candidate won a clear majority in the
election and secured a total of 452 votes. A total of 767 votes were cast in
the Vice Presidential election, of which 752 were valid and 15 were invalid.

3. Himachal Pradesh has been declared a fully literate state today
(Monday, 8 September 2025). On International Literacy Day, the state's CM
Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Education Minister Rohit Thakur declared Himachal a
fully literate state in the Ullas Mela program at Peterhof. Full literacy does
not mean 100 percent literacy, but 95 percent literacy. That is, when any state
or country becomes 95 percent literate, it is declared fully literate.

कार्यक्रम में हिमाचल को पूर्ण साक्षर राज्य घोषित किया. पूर्ण साक्षरता का मतलब
शत-प्रतिशत साक्षरता नहीं, बल्कि 95 प्रतिशत साक्षरता होती
है. यानी कोई भी राज्य या देश जब 95 प्रतिशत साक्षर हो जाता है तो उसे पूर्ण
साक्षर घोषित कर दिया जाता है.

inaugurated the International Space Conference 2025 and outlined India's
ambitious space goals, including an Indian space station by 2035 and a lunar

6. PM Modi will launch the Swasth Nari
Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan on September 17. The initiative aims to strengthen
health services for women and children. 75,000 health camps will be organized
at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and health centers. Poshan Maah will be celebrated
in Anganwadis to promote nutrition and health awareness. It aims to empower
communities and create healthy families across the country.

7. Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned following violent
protests and military pressure after he banned social media. Protests demanding
Oli's removal intensified, leaving 20 people dead and over 250 injured. The
Nepal government on Monday announced lifting of the ban on social media
platforms following violent protests by youth in different parts of the
country.
नेपाल के प्रधानमंत्री केपी शर्मा ओली ने सोशल मीडिया पर

8. The 11th
ammunition cum torpedo cum missile (ACTCM) barge, LSAM 25, was launched on 8
September 2025 at Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, Thane. The Indian Navy has
started a project to build such a barge, which will make it easier to deliver
weapons, missiles and torpedoes to warships. This will enable the Navy to load
its warships with weapons at a faster speed. The warship will not need to come
to the port.

किया है, जिससे युद्धपोतों पर हथियार,
मिसाइल और टॉरपीडो पहुंचाने का काम आसान हो जाएगा. इससे नौसेना तेज गति से अपने
जंगी जहाजों को हथियारों से लोड कर पाएगी. जंगी जहाज को बंदरगाह पर आने की जरूरत
नहीं पड़ेगी.
9. A 65-member contingent
of the Indian Armed Forces left for the Mulino Training Ground in Nizhny,
Russia today. The contingent will participate in the multilateral joint
military exercise 'Zapad 2025', which will be held from 10 to 16 September
2025. The contingent comprises 57 soldiers from the Indian Army, 7 from the Air
Force and 1 from the Navy. The Army is led by a battalion of the Kumaon Regiment,
along with soldiers from other corps and services.

10. The Andhra Pradesh
government has announced an ambitious plan to set up two major defence
manufacturing hubs - a space city in Tirupati and one in Madakasira. These
combined projects will attract investments worth ₹3,400 crore, making the state
a major hub for aerospace and defence manufacturing in India. The initiative is
also expected to boost exports, attract foreign investments and create a strong
ecosystem of startups, research institutes and manufacturing clusters.
