1. National Sports Day 2025 will be celebrated as a three-day nationwide fitness campaign from August 29 to 31 under the leadership of Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. The event is dedicated to hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, whose birth anniversary will be celebrated on August 29. Theme for 2025: 'Ek Ghanta, Khel Ke Maidan Mein'. Activities: With the slogan 'Har Gali, Har Maidan, Khele Sara Hindustan'. National Sports Day is celebrated in India every year on August 29 on the birthday of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand.

राष्ट्रीय खेल दिवस 2025, खेल मंत्री मनसुख मंडाविया के नेतृत्व में 29 से 31 अगस्त तक तीन दिवसीय राष्ट्रव्यापी फिटनेस अभियान के रूप में मनाया जाएगा। यह आयोजन हॉकी के दिग्गज मेजर ध्यानचंद को समर्पित है, जिनकी जयंती 29 अगस्त को मनाई जाएगी। 2025 का विषय: 'एक घंटा, खेल के मैदान में'। गतिविधियाँ: 'हर गली, हर मैदान, खेले सारा ' नारे के साथ। राष्ट्रीय खेल दिवस भारत में हर साल २९ अगस्त को हॉकी के महाहिंदुस्तानन खिलाड़ी मेजर ध्यानचंद के जन्मदिन पर मनाया जाता है।

2. The United Nations declared 27 August as World Lake Day in 2024 through resolution A/RES/79/142. It is observed annually by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) to raise awareness and promote sustainable lake management. Lakes are important ecosystems that support life, regulate climate and contribute to economic and recreational activities. World Lake Day will be celebrated for the first time in 2025.

संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने 2024 में संकल्प A/RES/79/142 के माध्यम से 27 अगस्त को विश्व झील दिवस के रूप में घोषित किया। संयुक्त राष्ट्र पर्यावरण कार्यक्रम (UNEP) द्वारा जागरूकता बढ़ाने और सतत झील प्रबंधन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए प्रतिवर्ष मनाया जाता है। झीलें महत्वपूर्ण पारिस्थितिक तंत्र हैं, जो जीवन का समर्थन करती हैं, जलवायु को नियंत्रित करती हैं और आर्थिक एवं मनोरंजक गतिविधियों में योगदान देती हैं। 2025 में विश्व झील दिवस पहली बार मनाया जाएगा।


3. India will deploy 700 troops to participate in 'Exercise Bright Star 2025' in Egypt. Exercise Bright Star: Started in 1980 as a bilateral exercise between Egypt and the US; it has evolved into one of the largest multinational military exercises in the Middle East and North Africa. India's participation symbolises deeper strategic engagement with key global partners.

भारत मिस्र में 'अभ्यास ब्राइट स्टार 2025' में भाग लेने के लिए 700 सैनिकों को तैनात करेगा। अभ्यास ब्राइट स्टार: 1980 में मिस्र और अमेरिका के बीच एक द्विपक्षीय अभ्यास के रूप में शुरू किया गया; यह मध्य पूर्व और उत्तरी अफ्रीका में सबसे बड़े बहुराष्ट्रीय सैन्य अभ्यासों में से एक के रूप में विकसित हुआ। भारत की भागीदारी प्रमुख वैश्विक भागीदारों के साथ गहन रणनीतिक जुड़ाव का प्रतीक है।

4. Super Garuda Shield 2025: Largest edition of US-Indonesia military exercise. Origin: Started as a bilateral US-Indonesian army drill in 2007. In 2022, expanded to Super Garuda Shield, becoming a multinational Indo-Pacific exercise. Soldiers from 12 other countries like Japan, Australia, Singapore, United Kingdom, France, Canada, South Korea, Thailand, Brunei, Brazil, India and New Zealand

सुपर गरुड़ शील्ड 2025: अमेरिका -इंडोनेशिया सैन्य अभ्यास का सबसे बड़ा संस्करण। मूल: 2007 में एक द्विपक्षीय अमेरिकी -इंडोनेशियाई सेना ड्रिल के रूप में शुरू हुआ। 2022 में, सुपर गरुड़ शील्ड में विस्तारित किया गया, एक बहुराष्ट्रीय हिंद-प्रशांत अभ्यास बन गया।  जापान, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, सिंगापुर, यूनाइटेड किंगडम, फ्रांस, कनाडा, दक्षिण कोरिया, थाईलैंड, ब्रुनेई, ब्राजील, भारत और न्यूजीलैंड जैसे 12 अन्य देशों के सैनिक।

5. India has appointed Dinesh K. Patnaik as its new High Commissioner to Canada, and this comes on the heels of Canada appointing Christopher Cooter as its envoy to India. These appointments signal a joint effort to mend diplomatic ties strained by the 2023 controversy over the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Diplomatic ties between India and Canada were severed in 2023.

6. The world's largest financial inclusion programme, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, has completed 11 years, with over 56 crore bank accounts opened under the scheme and deposits crossing Rs 2.68 lakh crore. Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 28, 2014, the scheme has transformed access to formal banking for millions of underprivileged citizens. Universal access to bank accounts enables the poor and marginalised to participate in the formal economy.

दुनिया के सबसे बड़े वित्तीय समावेशन कार्यक्रम, प्रधानमंत्री जन धन योजना  ने 11 साल पूरे कर लिए हैं, इस योजना के तहत 56 करोड़ से अधिक बैंक खाते खोले गए हैं और जमा राशि 2.68 लाख करोड़ रुपये को पार कर गई है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी द्वारा 28 अगस्त, 2014 को शुरू की गई इस योजना ने लाखों वंचित नागरिकों की औपचारिक बैंकिंग तक पहुँच को बदल दिया है। बैंक खातों तक सार्वभौमिक पहुँच गरीबों और हाशिए पर पड़े लोगों को औपचारिक अर्थव्यवस्था में भाग लेने में सक्षम बनाती है।

7. Akash Tripathi appointed Managing Director of Solar Energy Corporation of India The government has appointed Akash Tripathi, a 1998 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, as the new Managing Director of Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) was formed on September 20, 2011

आकाश त्रिपाठी को भारतीय सौर ऊर्जा निगम का प्रबंध निदेशक नियुक्त किया गया सरकार ने मध्य प्रदेश कैडर के 1998 बैच के आईएएस अधिकारी आकाश त्रिपाठी को नवीन एवं नवीकरणीय ऊर्जा मंत्रालय के तहत भारतीय सौर ऊर्जा निगम लिमिटेड (एसईसीआई) का नया प्रबंध निदेशक नियुक्त किया है। सोलर एनर्जी कॉरपोरेशन ऑफ इंडिया (SECI) का गठन 20 सितंबर, 2011 को किया गया था।

8. The Central Government has extended the import duty exemption on cotton until December 31, 2025, to bolster the domestic textile sector and exports. This decision, initially set to expire on September 30, 2025, aims to ensure sufficient cotton availability for the industry amidst high input costs.

10. According to a new report by EY based on IMF data, India is poised to become the world's second-largest economy in purchasing power parity (PPP) terms by 2038, with an estimated GDP of US$34.2 trillion. This growth is a giant leap for India, positioning it as a key driver of global growth in the decades to come.
