1. The Delhi Assembly is now fully powered by solar energy. A 500
kW rooftop solar plant has been commissioned. Delhi is the first assembly in
India to achieve this feat. The Assembly also launched the National e-Vidhan Application
(NeVA). NeVA promotes paperless legislative work. It is part of the "One
Nation, One Application" initiative of the central government.

2 Public
sector unit BEML will manufacture Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat and Metro rail
coaches at Umaria in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh. The initiative supports
the vision of 'Make in India' and 'Make in Madhya Pradesh'. Chief Minister
Mohan Yadav announced the project. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will lay its
foundation stone.

3. Union Minister Annapurna Devi inaugurated SheLeads II in New
Delhi. The event is a two-day workshop organised by the UN Women India Office.
SheLeads is the flagship capacity building programme of UN Women. It aims to
promote gender equality in political and public leadership. SheLeads equips
women with skills, networks and confidence for leadership.

4. The
Ministry in collaboration with the Forest and Environment Department of the
Government of Gujarat celebrated World Lion Day - 2025. The day was celebrated
at Barda Wildlife Sanctuary. The day is celebrated to raise awareness about the
conservation and protection of lions across the world. The Asiatic lion is a
unique ecological and cultural heritage, found only in the Saurashtra region.
The number of lions in Gujarat has increased by 32% since 2020, from 674 in
2020 to 891 in 2025.

5. The Indian Railway has
achieved a new milestone by successfully conduct a trial run of Asia's largest,
a 4.5 km long freight train Rudrastra'. The trial run was conducted from the
Ganjkhwaja railway station in Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh to Garhwa in Jharkhand
covering a distance of 209 km in 5 hours 10 minutes at an average speed of
40.50 km per hour.

6. On this day a hundred years ago, the
courage shown by patriotic Indians at Kakori unleashed people's resentment
against colonial rule. On August 9, revolutionaries of the Hindustan Republican
Association (HRA) stopped the No. 8 Down train near Kakori and looted the
British government's treasury money from the guard cabin. These revolutionaries
included Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaqulla Khan, Thakur Roshan Singh, Rajendranath
Lahiri and Sachindranath Sanyal.

7. The World Health Organization has certified Kenya for
eliminating human African trypanosomiasis, also known as sleeping sickness, as
a public health challenge, making it the 10th country to reach this significant
milestone. Human African trypanosomiasis is the second neglected tropical
disease to be eliminated in Kenya, after the country was certified as guinea
worm free in 2018. According to the World Health Organization, the disease is
caused by protozoan parasites transmitted by infected tsetse flies.

8. Indian Railways has started transporting industrial salt by flagging off its first rake from Sanosara to Dahej, which will boost the salt industry of the region and increase freight revenue. The first rake carried 3851.2 tonnes of industrial salt, covering a distance of 673.57 km and earning revenue of ₹31.69 lakh. This logistics solution opens new avenues for the salt industry of the region and promotes growth in freight traffic."

9. Kerala State Financial Enterprises (KSRE) has achieved a
significant milestone. It has now become India's first diversified NBFC with a
turnover of Rs one lakh crore. NBFCs function like banks, NBFCs cannot accept
deposits payable on demand. NBFCs are not part of the payment and settlement
system and cannot issue cheques to their customers and depositors of NBFCs do
not get the facility of deposit insurance from the Deposit Insurance and Credit
Guarantee Corporation unlike the depositors of banks.

10. Parliament has passed the Coastal Shipping Bill, 2025. The
bill regulates ships involved in coastal trade in Indian waters. It aims to
consolidate and amend laws relating to coastal shipping. It encourages domestic
participation in the coastal shipping sector. It aims to create a
civilian-owned coastal fleet for national security and commerce.
