1. Indore retained the title of India's cleanest city for the eighth year. Surat and Navi Mumbai were ranked second and third respectively. These awards were part of the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25. President Draupadi Murmu presented the awards in New Delhi. Noida was the cleanest city in the 3-10 lakh population category. Ahmedabad ranked first among cities with a population of more than 10 lakh.

इंदौर ने आठवें वर्ष भी भारत के सबसे स्वच्छ शहर का खिताब बरकरार रखा। सूरत और नवी मुंबई क्रमशः दूसरे और तीसरे स्थान पर रहे। ये पुरस्कार स्वच्छ सर्वेक्षण 2024-25 का हिस्सा थे। राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने नई दिल्ली में पुरस्कार प्रदान किए। 3-10 लाख जनसंख्या वर्ग में नोएडा सबसे स्वच्छ शहर रहा। 10 लाख से अधिक जनसंख्या वाले शहरों में अहमदाबाद पहले स्थान पर रहा।

2   Britain plans to give 16-17 year olds the right to vote in all elections. This reform still needs approval from the UK Parliament. The voting age for devolved elections in Scotland and Wales is already 16. The aim is to make voting rights uniform across the UK. Under the new rules, voter ID will also include UK bank cards and digital identity cards.

ब्रिटेन 16-17 वर्ष के बच्चों को सभी चुनावों में वोट देने का अधिकार देने की योजना बना रहा है। इस सुधार के लिए अभी भी ब्रिटेन की संसद की मंज़ूरी आवश्यक है।स्कॉटलैंड और वेल्स में हस्तांतरित चुनावों के लिए मतदान की आयु पहले से ही 16 वर्ष है। इसका लक्ष्य पूरे ब्रिटेन में मतदान के अधिकारों को एक समान बनाना है। नए नियमों के अंतर्गत मतदाता पहचान पत्र में ब्रिटेन के बैंक कार्ड और डिजिटल पहचान पत्र भी शामिल किए जाएँगे।

3. INS Nilgiri is the lead ship of the Nilgiri class stealth frigates. It arrived at Chennai port for the first time today. Built with indigenous technology under Project 17A. Equipped with modern weapons and sensors. Commissioned by Prime Minister Modi on 15 January 2025. It has been built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), Mumbai and Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata.

INS नीलगिरि, नीलगिरि श्रेणी के स्टील्थ फ्रिगेट्स का प्रमुख जहाज है। यह आज पहली बार चेन्नई बंदरगाह पहुँचा। परियोजना 17A के अंतर्गत स्वदेशी तकनीक से निर्मित। आधुनिक हथियारों और सेंसरों से सुसज्जित। 15 जनवरी 2025 को प्रधानमंत्री मोदी द्वारा कमीशन किया गया। इसका निर्माण मझगांव डॉक शिपबिल्डर्स लिमिटेड (एमडीएल), मुंबई और गार्डन रीच शिपबिल्डर्स एंड इंजीनियर्स (जीआरएसई), कोलकाता द्वारा किया गया है।

4. Gujarat is the first Indian state to launch the Tribal Genome Sequencing Project. It aims to improve healthcare for tribal communities through genetic research. It aims to enable early detection of genetic diseases such as sickle cell anemia and thalassemia. The Gujarat Biotechnology Research Centre (GBRC) is leading the project.

गुजरात जनजातीय जीनोम अनुक्रमण परियोजना शुरू करने वाला पहला भारतीय राज्य है। इसका लक्ष्य आनुवंशिक अनुसंधान के माध्यम से जनजातीय समुदायों के लिए स्वास्थ्य सेवा को बेहतर बनाना है। इसका लक्ष्य सिकल सेल एनीमिया और थैलेसीमिया जैसी आनुवंशिक बीमारियों का शीघ्र पता लगाना है। गुजरात जैव प्रौद्योगिकी अनुसंधान केंद्र (GBRC) इस परियोजना का नेतृत्व कर रहा है।

5. The University of Southampton inaugurated its Indian campus in Gurugram. It is the first foreign university to open in India under the new UGC rules. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated it. The campus was set up within a year of receiving the letter of intent. The campus will offer UK-affiliated undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

साउथेम्प्टन विश्वविद्यालय ने गुरुग्राम में अपने भारतीय परिसर का उद्घाटन किया।यह UGC के नए नियमों के अंतर्गत भारत में खुलने वाला पहला विदेशी विश्वविद्यालय है। केंद्रीय शिक्षा मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान ने इसका उद्घाटन किया। यह परिसर आशय पत्र प्राप्त होने के एक वर्ष के भीतर स्थापित किया गया था। यह परिसर ब्रिटेन से संबद्ध स्नातक और स्नातकोत्तर कार्यक्रम प्रदान करेगा।

6. A greenfield port is under construction at Manginapudi near Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh. The port is expected to start operations by the end of 2026. Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) is building the port. The port is based on the landlord model: government ownership, private companies operating it.

7. Ajay Kumar Srivastava has officially assumed charge as Director of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Hindustan Aeronautics Limited is an Indian public sector aerospace and defence company, headquartered in Bengaluru. Established on 23 December 1940, HAL is one of the oldest and largest aerospace and defence manufacturers in the world.

अजय कुमार श्रीवास्तव ने आधिकारिक तौर पर हिंदुस्तान एयरोनॉटिक्स लिमिटेड (HAL) के निदेशक का पदभार ग्रहण कर लिया है। हिंदुस्तान एयरोनॉटिक्स लिमिटेड एक भारतीय सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र की एयरोस्पेस और रक्षा कंपनी है जिसका मुख्यालय बेंगलुरु में है। 23 दिसंबर 1940 को स्थापित, HAL दुनिया के सबसे पुराने और सबसे बड़े एयरोस्पेस और रक्षा निर्माताओं में से एक है।

8. EximPay has received in-principle approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to operate as a Payment Aggregator - Cross Border (PA-CB). The move is expected to boost cross-border digital transactions and e-commerce trade, especially in the India-Asia corridor.

एक्ज़िमपे को भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक (RBI) से भुगतान एग्रीगेटर - क्रॉस बॉर्डर (PA-CB) के रूप में कार्य करने हेतु सैद्धांतिक मंज़ूरी मिल गई है। इस कदम से सीमा-पार डिजिटल लेनदेन और ई-कॉमर्स व्यापार, विशेष रूप से भारत-एशिया गलियारे में, को बढ़ावा मिलने की उम्मीद है।

9. Maharashtra is the first Indian state to grant agriculture status to livestock and poultry. This includes dairy, poultry, fisheries and rearing of small ruminants. This policy brings livestock farmers at par with crop farmers. Livestock farmers will now get cheaper agricultural electricity rates.

महाराष्ट्र पशुधन और मुर्गीपालन को कृषि का दर्जा देने वाला पहला भारतीय राज्य है।इसके अंतर्गत डेयरी, मुर्गीपालन, मत्स्य पालन और छोटे जुगाली करने वाले पशुओं का पालन शामिल है। यह नीति पशुपालन करने वाले किसानों को फसल उगाने वाले किसानों के बराबर लाती है। पशुधन पालन करने वाले किसानों को अब कृषि विद्युत दरें सस्ती मिलेंगी।

10. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved a special exemption for NLC India Limited (NLCIL). This allows NLCIL to invest ₹7,000 crore in its subsidiary NLC India Renewables Limited. This exemption is free from the investment limits applicable to Navratna PSUs

आर्थिक मामलों की मंत्रिमंडलीय समिति (CCEA) ने NLC इंडिया लिमिटेड (NLCIL) के लिए एक विशेष छूट को मंजूरी दे दी है। इससे NLCIL को अपनी सहायक कंपनी NLC इंडिया रिन्यूएबल्स लिमिटेड में ₹7,000 करोड़ का निवेश करने की अनुमति मिल गई है। यह छूट नवरत्न सार्वजनिक उपक्रमों पर लागू निवेश सीमा से मुक्त है।
