1. PM Modi dedicated Unit I of the 1,980 MW Ghatampur Thermal Power Project developed by Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power Limited (NLC India 51%, UPRVUNL 49%). The Rs 21,780.94 crore project features advanced emission control technologies such as SCR, FGD and Zero Liquid Discharge for environmental compliance.

2. Karnataka has banned hookah bars and raised the legal age to
purchase tobacco from 18 to 21 to reduce tobacco use among youth. Public
tobacco use is banned except in designated smoking areas in hotels, restaurants
and airports; selling loose cigarettes and tobacco is prohibited near schools.

3. ADB President Masato Kanda announced a 5-year, $10 billion plan
to enhance India's urban infrastructure, focusing on metro expansion, RRTS
corridors and sustainable development. The initiative supports India's Urban
Challenge Fund to attract private investment and build capacity in state and
urban local bodies.
