West Bengal Police SI Eligibility Criteria 2022
The detailed eligibility criteria to apply for the WB Police SI post is given below:
Ⅰ. Educational Qualification: The candidate should hold a bachelor's degree in any relevant discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent.
Ⅱ. Nationality: The applicant should be a citizen of India and have a Domicile of WB state.
Ⅲ. Age Limit:
Candidates should be between 20-27 years of age as of 1st January 2022.
There would be some relaxation for the upper age limit for the reserved category candidates:
WB police department Candidates: 8 years
WB Police department OBC Candidates: 11 years
WB Police department SC/ST Candidates: 13 years
OBC: 3 years
SC/ST: 5 years
Ⅳ. Language: The applicant must be able to speak, understand and write in the Bengali language. However, this provision is not applicable for permanent residents of hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts.
WB Police SI Exam Pattern
West Bengal Police SI Recruitment department conducts different exams and tests for the posts of Sub-inspector and Lady Sub-inspector these are:
Preliminary exams (200 marks)
Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Qualifying
Final Combined Competitive exams (200 marks)

Ⅰ. WB Police SI Preliminary Exam Pattern
The preliminary exam pattern is given below:
It is an MCQ-based exam that is conducted offline on an OMR sheet.
There will be a deduction of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
Candidates have the option to select the language of the exam, whether English or Hindi.

Candidates should fulfill the following physical standards:
Ⅴ. Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates applying for the WB Police as a Sub-Inspector (UB) or Sub-Inspector (AB) must pass a physical standard test (mentioned above). They must also complete an 800-meter run in 3 minutes.
Female competitors must run 400 meters in under two minutes. Those who pass the Physical Measurement Test will be invited to take the Physical Efficiency Test.
