(A) 7

(B) 8

(C) 9

(D) 11

Answer key:-

1. Sol. (C)

Let the original strength of the class be x/рдоाрдиा рдХрдХ्рд╖ा рдХी рдоूрд▓ рдХ्рд╖рдорддा x рдеी |

x × 22 + 12 × 17 = (x+12) × 20

22x + 204 = 20x + 240

2x = 36

x = 18

2. Sol. (A)

Let length of second train be x m/рдоाрдиा рджूрд╕рд░ी рдЯ्рд░ेрди рдХी рд▓рдо्рдмाрдИ x рдоी.

[{(240 + x)/ (90 – 72)} × (18/5)] = 80

(240 + x) × 18 = 7200

x = 160 m./рдоी.

3. Sol. (B)

1 M = 2W = 3 B

1 M + 1 W + 1 B = 1 + (1/2) + (1/3) = (6 + 3 + 2)/ 6 = 11/6

Let required number of days be x/рдоाрдиा рдЕрднीрд╖्рдЯ рджिрдиों рдХी рд╕ंрдЦ्рдпा x рд╣ै |

(11/6) × x = 55 × 1

x = (55 × 6)/ 11 = 30

4. Sol. (C)

According to the question/

(d/4) – (d/5) = 15/60

d = 5

5. Sol. (B)

Let number of days be x/рдоाрдиा рджिрдиों рдХी рд╕ंрдЦ्рдпा x рд╣ै |

x = (18 × 1736 × 7 × 10)/ (16 × 2170 × 9) = 7 days/рджिрди

6. Sol. (D)

Let income/

Then expenditure/

New income/

New expenditure/

New savings/

7. Sol. (A)

Let the cost of one table be x/ рдоाрдиा рдПрдХ рдоेрдЬ рдХा рдоूрд▓्рдп x рд░ू.

then cost of one chair/ рддो рдПрдХ рдХुрд░्рд╕ी рдХा рдоूрд▓्рдп = x – 120

5 (x – 210) + 3x = 3110

5x – 1050 + 3x = 3110

8x = 3110 + 1050 = 4160

x = 520

8. Sol. (D)

3x + 4x + 5x = 3 × 28

x = 7

9. Sol. (C)

Divisor/рднाрдЬрдХ = 5 × 46 = 230

10 × quotient/рднाрдЧрдлрд▓ = 230

Quotient/

= (230 × 23) + 46

= 5336

10. Sol. (B)

Let the two numbers be x and y/рдоाрдиा рджोрдиों рд╕ंрдЦ्рдпाрдПँ x рдФрд░ y рд╣ैं ।

x × y = 24 (x – y) xy

= 24x – 24y ... (i)

x + y = 14

y = 14 – x...... (ii)

x (14 –x) = 24 x – 24 (14 – x)

14x – x
2 = 24 x – 336 + 24 x

x
2 + 34x – 336 = 0

x
2 + 42x – 8x – 336 = 0

x (x + 42) – 8 (x + 42) = 0

(x + 42) (x – 8) = 0

x = 8,– 42

Larger number/
