(B) 32 वर्ष

(C) 40 वर्ष

(D) 36 वर्ष

Q. 3. In college A number of students is twice of the number of students in class B. If the ratio of boys and girls in college A and college B is respectively 7: 5 and 7: 8. The find the ratio of boys and girls in college A and B together.

(B) 35: 37

(C) 49: 41

(D) 37: 35

Q. 4. Bowling average of Ishant Sharma in matches played by him was 14 runs/wicket. In next match his performances were 4 wickets for 72 runs. So his new bowling average becomes 14.2 runs/wicket. Find the total number of wickets taken by him till now.

(A) 72 विकेट

(B) 76 विकेट

(C) 84 विकेट

(D) 80 विकेट

Q. 5. The diameter of two hollow spheres made from the same metal sheet are 21 cm and 17.5 cm respectively. The ratio of the area of metal sheets required for making the two spheres is-

(A) 6: 5

(B) 36: 25

(C) 3: 2

(D) 18: 25

Q. 6. A sum lent at compound interest amounts to Rs.578.40 in 2 years and to Rs.614.55 in 3 years. Calculate the rate of interest per annum.

Q. 7. If p4 + p2q2 + q4 = 6  and p2 + pq + q2 = 2  the find the value of pq.

(A) 1

(B) 0

(C) – 1/2

(D) 1/2

Q. 8. The equation of two parallel lines are 4x + 3y = 11 and 8x + 6y = 15 respectively. Find the distance between these lines.

        (A) 7

       (B) 9

Q. 9. If, find the value of

.

Q. 10. If a certain number of two digits is divided by the sum of its digits, the quotient is 6 and the remainder is 3 and reverse of this number divided by the sum of the digits, the quotient is 4 and the remainder is 9. The difference of the digits of the number is-

(A) 2

(B) 3

(C) 4

(D) 5

Answer Key-

1. Sol. (B)

20% = 1/5, 50% = 1/2

Original area = 5 × 2 = 10

New area = 6 × 3 = 18

Required answer = 18/10 = 9/5

2. Sol. (A)

His daughter's age = x years

Kunal's age = 3x years

His mother's age =years

According to the question,
x + 3x + = 125

3x + 9x + 13x = 125 × 3

25 x = 125 × 3

x = 15

Required difference = 65 – 15 = 50 years

3. Sol. (C)

Let number of students in school A = 240

and number of students in school B = 120

Number of boys in school A = 140

Number of boys in school B = 56

Number of girls in school A = 100

Number of girls in school B = 64

Required ratio = 196 : 164 = 49 : 41

4. Sol. (D)

Let he has taken x wickets before the match and runs given with the average 14.

So, total runs given was = 14 x

Runs given including this match 14 x + 72 with average of 14.2

Now, (14 x + 72)/ (x + 4) = 14.2

14 x + 72 = 14.2x + 56.8

0.2 x = 15.2

x = 76

Total wickets till now = 76 + 4 = 80

5. Sol. (B)

Required ratio = 212 : 17.52 = 9: 6.25 = 36: 25

6. Sol. (B)

Rate of interest

7. Sol. (C)

p4 + p2q2 + q4 = 6

p4 + q4 = 6 – p2q2 … (i)

again

p2 + pq + q2 = 2

p2 + q2 = 2 – pq … (ii)

squaring on both side in eq. (ii)

p4 + q4 + 2 p2q2 = 4 + p2q2 – 4pq

6 – p2q2 + 2 p2q2 = 4 + p2q2 – 4pq

2 = – 4pq

pq = – 1/2

8. Sol. (D)
Distance between lines

9. Sol. (C)

10. Sol. (A)

Let number be 10x + y.

First case:

10x + y = 6(x + y) + 3

10x + y = 6x + 6y + 3

4x – 5y = 3 ... (I)

Second case:

10y + x = 4(x + y) + 9

10y + x = 4x + 4y + 9

6y – 3x = 9

2y – x = 3 ... (II)

On solving above two equations, we get

x = 7, y = 5

Required difference = 7 – 5 = 2
