(D) 3/4

Q. 9. A and B are friends and B is 2 years younger than A. A's father D is twice as old as A and B is twice as his sister C. The age of D and C differ by 40 years. The ages of A's and 'B' are respectively.

(A) 26 years/ वर्ष, 28 years/ वर्ष

(B) 25 years/ वर्ष, 23 years/ वर्ष

(C) 30 years/ वर्ष, 28 years/ वर्ष

(D) 26 years/ वर्ष, 24 years/ वर्ष

Q. 10. Raja took 1 hour to travel 2/5 of a journey. He then took another 1 hour to travel the next 1/5 of the journey. He spent 45 minutes to travel the remaining 220 km. Find the distance he travelled in the whole journey.

(A) 550 km.

(B) 220 km.

(C) 330 km.

(D) 440 km.

Answer key:-

1. Sol. (A)

Larger number/ बड़ी संख्या = 3x

Smaller number/ छोटी संख्या = 4x

[{(3x)
2/ 4} + {(4x)2/ 2}] = 1476

[9x
2/ 4} + {16x)2/ 2}] = 1476

41x
2/ 4 = 1476

x
2 = (1476 × 4)/ 41 = 144

x = 12

2

= 12 × 12
2 = 1728

Cube root of the product of the numbers/

2. Sol. (D)

4M = 6W

2M = 3W

4 × 12 × 7 × 2 = 12 × D × 8

D = 7

3. Sol. (C)

C.P. of the article / वस्तु का क्रय मूल्य = (2180 + 1420)/ 2 = Rs.1800

Required S.P.

4. Sol. (C)
Area of trapezium = (1/2) × [(12 + 16) × 8] = 112 cm.

5. Sol. (B)

m : n = 2 : 3

[(3m + 5n)/ (6m – n)] = [{3 × (2/3) + 5}/ {6 × (2/3) – 1}] = 7/3

6. Sol. (C)

Let first discount be x%.

105 = 150 × {(100 – 12.5)/ 100} × {(100 – x)/ 100}

10500 = 15 × 875 × (100 – x)

80 = 100 – x

x = 100 – 80 = 20%

7. Sol. (B)

12243 = P × (105/100) × (106/100) × (110/100)

P = (12243 × 100 × 100 × 100)/ (105 × 106 × 110)

P = Rs. 10000

8. Sol. (C)

P (Exactly one tail/

9. Sol. (D)

A – B = 2 ... (i)

D = 2A ... (ii)

B = 2C ... (iii)

D – C = 40

2A – (1/2) B = 40

4A – B = 80 ... (i)

From (i) and (ii), we get/(i)

A = 26, B = 24

10. Sol. (A)

Remaining distance/

2/5 = 220

1 = 550 km. / किमी.
