Answers:

1. (1) Develop means make it grow and solicit means plead for or try to sell.

2. (4) Plenty- ample and still is written here to show a contradiction in the latter part of the sentence

3. (4) Pace- a rate of activity, progress or growth It is used here for the monsoon. The other words speed, race frequency and power are inappropriate in context to monsoon.

4. (1) Relying- having faith in somebody or something and ensure means guarantee.

5. (3) Expecting-anticipate the occurrence or coming of something and active means engaged in action characterized by energetic participation

6. (5) Zany (adj.) – amusingly unconventional and idiosyncratic.
Witty (adj.) – funny and clever. Both these words are opposite to each other.

7. (1) Hirsute (adj.) – hairy

Shaggy (adj.) – (of hair or fur) long, thick, and unkempt.

Hirsute and shaggy are similar in meaning.

8. (2) Cozy (adj.) – warm, soft; snug

Cozy and snug are synonyms.

9. (1) Hospitality (n) – welcome
Dismissal (n) – inhospitality. Both these words are opposite to each other.

10. (4) Humbug (n) – deceptive or false talk or behaviour. Humbug and Deception are similar in meaning.
