IBPS RRB 2018 Exam - Frequently Asked Questions

IBPS has released the official notification of the Common Recruitment Process for RRBs (CRP RRBs VII) for recruitment of Group “A”-Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Group “B”-Office Assistant (Multipurpose). Now, many students will be willing to fill the forms for the vacancy but they have a lot of questions regarding important dates, exam pattern and other details for the RRB 2018 Exam. So looking at the problems faced by the students, we have come up with the Frequently Asked Questions for the exam.


Q1. What is the start and end date for registration for RRB 2018 Exam?

The start date for the registration for RRB Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Group “B”-Office Assistant is 08.06.2018.

The end date for the registration for RRB Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Group “B”-Office Assistant is 02.07.2018.

Q2. What is the Eligibility criteria for RRB 2018 exam?
The eligibility conditions for a candidate applying for RRB 2018 are as follows-

A candidate must be either -

(i) a Citizen of India or

(ii) a subject of Nepal or

(iii) a subject of Bhutan or

(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or

(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire,

Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Age Limits-

Age (As on 01.06.2018)


For Officer Scale- III (Senior Manager)- Above 21 years - Below 40 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1978 and later than 31.05.1997 (both dates inclusive)

For Officer Scale- II (Manager)- Above 21 years - Below 32 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1986 and later than 31.05.1997 (both dates inclusive)

For Officer Scale- I (Assistant Manager)- Above 18 years - Below 30 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1988 and later than 31.05.2000 (both dates inclusive)

For Office Assistant (Multipurpose) - Between 18 years and 28 years i.e. candidates should have not been born earlier than 02.06.1990 and later than 01.06.2000 (both dates inclusive)

Q3. What are the Educational Qualifications required to appear for the exam?

The exam have different educational qualifications for Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Group “B”-Office Assistant, which are mentioned below-

Office Assistant (Multipurpose)

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent

(a) Proficiency in local language as prescribed by the participating RRBs

(b) Desirable: Working knowledge of Computer.

Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager)

i. Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent.

ii. Proficiency in local language as prescribed by the participating RRBs.

iii. Desirable: working knowledge of Computer

Officer Scale-II General Banking Officer (Manager)

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Experience required- Two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers (Manager)

· Information Technology Officer
Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University in Electronics /Communication / Computer Science / Information Technology or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Experience required- One year (in the relevant field)

· Chartered Accountant

Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants One Year as a Chartered Accountant.

Experience required- One year as Chartered Accountant.

· Law Officer

Degree from a recognised University in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks.

Experience required- Two years as an advocate or should have worked as Law Officer in Banks or Financial Institutions for a period of not less than two years.

· Treasury Manager

Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance from a recognized university/ institution

Experience Required- One Year (in the relevant field)

· Marketing Officer

MBA in Marketing from a recognized university

Experience Required- One Year (in the relevant field)

· Agricultural Officer


Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy/ Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural Engineering/ Pisciculture from a recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

Experience Required- Two Years (in the relevant field)

Officer Scale-III (Senior Manager)

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate

Experience Required- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institutions

Q4. How to apply?

All the aspirants can apply for the posts of Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Group “B”-Office Assistant, on the official website of IBPS i.e. http://www.ibps.in/

Q5. What are the guidelines for scanning and uploading documents in the application form?

The guidelines for uploading documents is as follows-

Photograph Image: (4.5cm × 3.5cm)
- Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels (preferred)

- Size of file should be between 20kb–50 kb

Signature

- The applicant has to sign on white paper with Black Ink pen.

- Size of file should be between 10kb – 20kb for signature and left thumb impression.

- For hand written declaration size of file should be 20kb – 50 kb

- Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 20kb or 50 kb (for hand written declaration)

- Signature / Hand written declaration in CAPITAL LETTERS shall NOT be accepted.

Q6. What is the application fee for RRB 2018 Exam and how can I pay my application fee?

The application fee for RRB 2018 exam is as follows-

Officer (Scale I, II & III)


Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

Rs. 600/- for all others

Office Assistant (Multipurpose)

Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD/EXSM candidates.

Rs. 600/- for all others

All the aspirants can pay the fee online from the platform given while filling the form.

Q7. What is the last date to submit fees for the exam?

All the aspirants can submit their fee between 08.06.2018 to 02.07.2018.

Q8. When will be the RRB 2018 Exam held?

The dates for the Prelims and Mains RRB exam are as follows-

Online Examination – Preliminary

Officer Scale-I – 11.08.2018, 12.08.2018 and 18.08.2018 (if required)

Office Assistant- 19.08.2018, 25.08.2018 & 01.09.2018

Online Examination – Main / Single

Officers (I, II & III) – 30.09.2018

Office Assistant - 07.10.2018

All the aspirants can download their admit cards for Prelims and Mains exam on the following dates-

Q12. When will be the result of RRB 2018 Exam released?

The result of the Mains examination for Officers Scale I, II and III will be released in October 2018 and the provisional allotment for Officers Scale I, II and III & Office Assistant (Multipurpose) will be done in January 2019.
