Pension for farmers engaged in organic farming in Sikkim
Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling announced monthly pension for farmers engaged in organic farming in the state.
Farmers involved in organic farming will get a monthly pension of Rs 1000.
Sikkim is the first fully organic state in the country. The Chamling government has banned sale and consumption of non-organic agricultural and horticultural products comprising cereals, vegetables, spices, and fruits.

IISc, Bengaluru is India’s top-ranked university: NIRF Rankings
The third edition of the NIRF Rankings, released by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, included overall rankings across disciplines and category-wise ranking for engineering, pharmacy, medical, management, architecture, law, university and colleges.
IISc, Bengaluru, retained its position as India’s top-ranked university for the third year in a row. JNU was ranked second, followed by BHU in the third place. The top 10 in the ‘overall’ category ( irrespective of discipline) again had the IISc at the top and included six Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), with JNU in the sixth place and Anna University, Chennai, ranked tenth.
