WHO to confer special award on Health Minister Nadda
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has conferred a special recognition award on Union Health Minister J P Nadda for his commitment to advancing tobacco control in the country.
The global health body said that Nadda will be conferred the 'Director General's Special Recognition Award' for accelerating India's tobacco control initiatives and taking bold measures to protect people against hazards of tobacco use.
डब्ल्यूएचओ स्वास्थ्य मंत्री नड्डा को विशेष सम्मान देगा
विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन :डब्ल्यूएचओ: भारत में तंबाकू नियंत्रण को आगे बढ़ाने की प्रतिबद्धता को लेकर स्वास्थ्य मंत्री जे पी नड्डा को विशेष रूप से सम्मानित करेगा।
विश्व स्वास्थ्य निकाय ने कहा कि भारत में तंबाकू नियंत्रण से जुड़ी पहल को गति देने और तंबाकू के उपयोग से लोगों के बचाव की दिशा में कड़े कदम उठाने के लिए नड्डा को ‘डायरेक्टर जनरल्स स्पेशल रिकगनिशन अवार्ड’ से सम्मानित किया जाएगा।

Kerala BJP leader new vice chairperson of minorities' panel
George Kurian, a BJP leader and 'social and educational activist' from Kerala, has been appointed as the vice chairperson of the National Commission for Minorities (NCM).
The appointment was made by Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs (Independent Charge) Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.
The Centre had on May 24 nominated five NCM members, including Kurian, to the Commission's vice chairperson post, which had been lying vacant for over two months.
केरल के भाजपा नेता बने अल्पसंख्यक आयोग के नए उपाध्यक्ष
केरल में भाजपा के नेता और सामाजिक एवं शैक्षणिक कार्यकर्ता जॉर्ज कुरियन को राष्ट्रीय अल्पसंख्यक आयोग का उपाध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया है।
यह नियुक्ति अल्पसंख्यक मामलों के केंद्रीय राज्य मंत्री :स्वतंत्र प्रभार: मुख्तार अब्बास नकवी द्वारा की गई।
केंद्र ने 24 मई को राष्ट्रीय अल्पसंख्यक आयोग के उपाध्यक्ष पद के लिए कुरियन समेत आयोग के पांच सदस्यों को नामित किया था। यह पद दो माह से खाली पड़ा था।

Defence Minister's Scientific Adviser Satheesh Reddy's Tenure Extended
The government has extended the tenure of G Satheesh Reddy, scientific adviser to the defence minister, by one year. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved extension of his tenure for one year with effect from June 4.
Mr Reddy, a scientist, was in May 2015 appointed to the post for a fixed two-year term.
रक्षा मंत्री के वैज्ञानिक सलाहकार जी सतीश रेड्डी का कार्यकाल एक साल बढ़ाया गया
रक्षा मंत्री के वैज्ञानिक सलाहकार के तौर पर जी सतीश रेड्डी के कार्यकाल को एक साल का विस्तार दिया गया है। कैबिनेट की नियुक्ति समिति ने उनके कार्यकाल में 4 जून से एक साल का विस्तार किए जाने की अनुमति दी है।
प्रतिष्ठित वैज्ञानिक रेड्डी को मई 2015 में निर्धारित दो वर्ष के कार्यकाल के लिए इस पद पर नियुक्त किया गया था।
Former Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega dies
Former Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega, died at age 83.
Noriega served a 17-year drug sentence in the United States and was later sent to face charges in France. He spent all but the last few months of his final years in a Panamanian prison for murder of political opponents during his 1983-89 regime.
पनामा के पूर्व तानाशाह मैनुएल नोरिएगा का निधन
पनामा के पूर्व तानाशाह मैनुएल नोरिएगा का निधन हो गया है। वह 83 साल के थे।
नोरिएगा ने ड्रग के मामले में अमेरिका में 17 साल की सजा काटी और फिर फ्रांस में आरोपों का सामना किया।अपने जीवन के आखिरी समय में वह पनामा की जेल में रहे। साल 1983 से 1989 तक के शासनकाल में उन पर अपने राजनीतिक विरोधियों की हत्या करने का आरोप था।
