India and Sri Lanka sign MoU on co-operation in economic projects
India and Sri Lanka signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in economic projects following talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his visiting Sri Lankan counterpart Ranil Wickremesinghe.

China launches 2nd aircraft carrier amid regional tensions
China launched its first indigenously-built aircraft carrier which will join an existing one bought from Ukraine, boosting its blue-water capabilities amid growing tension about Beijing flexing its muscle in the strategic South China Sea.
The 50,000-tonne new aircraft carrier was transferred from a dry dock into the water at a launch ceremony in northeast Dalian shipyard of the China Shipbuilding Industry Corp (CSIC) amid streamers and champagne.
चीन ने क्षेत्रीय तनाव के बीच दूसरे विमानवाहक पोत का किया जलावतरण
चीन के दक्षिण चीन सागर में विस्तार को लेकर चिंताओं के बीच बीजिंग ने अपने पहले स्वदेशी विमानवाहक पोत का जलावतरण किया है जो यूक्रेन से खरीदे गए मौजूदा पोत के साथ शामिल होगा। इससे बीजिंग की सैन्य क्षमताओं में भी बढ़ोतरी होगी।
‘चीन शिपबिल्डिंग इंडस्ट्री कॉपरेरेशन’ :सीएसआईसी: के पूर्वोत्तर डालियान शिपयार्ड में प्रक्षेपण समारोह के दौरान 50,000 टन के इस नए विमानवाहक पोत को सूखे डॉक से पानी ने स्थानांतरित किया गया।

Nita Ambani made member of IOC’s Olympic Channel Commission
India’s first woman International Olympic Committee member Nita Ambani has made it to two important commissions of the global sports governing body, including the prestigious Olympic channel.
Besides the Olympic Channel, the 53-year-old Ambani has also been made a member of Olympic education Commission as IOC announced the composition of 26 commissions for 2017.
नीता अंबानी आईओसी ओलंपिक चैनल कमीशन की सदस्य बनायी गयी
अंतरराष्ट्रीय ओलंपिक समिति में पहली भारतीय महिला सदस्या नीता अंबानी को इस वैश्विक संचालन संस्था के दो महत्वपूर्ण आयोग का सदस्य बनाया गया है जिनमें प्रतिष्ठित ओलंपिक चैनल भी शामिल है।
आईओसी ने 2017 के लिये अपने 26 आयोगों के लिये सदस्यों की घोषणा की और 53 वर्षीय अंबानी को ओलंपिक चैनल के अलावा ओलंपिक शिक्षा आयोग का भी सदस्य बनाया गया है।
