ANSWERS:

1. Sol. (C)
Let three numbers are a, b and c and these are in increasing order.
According to the question,
a + b + c = 114 … (I)
c – a = 31 … (II)
b = a + c – 20 … (III)
From (I), (II), and (III), we get
c = 49

2. Sol. (B) Let distance = d
According to question,
ssc-maths-quiz-18-10-19
ssc-maths-quiz-18-10-19
d = 10 km.

3. Sol. (C) Δ PQR ssc-maths-quiz-18-10-19 Δ DEF
ssc-maths-quiz-18-10-19
ssc-maths-quiz-18-10-19
ssc-maths-quiz-18-10-19
DE = 12 cm.
Similarly,
FD = 10.5 cm.
Perimeter of Δ DEF = 12 + 9 + 10.5 = 31.5 cm.

4. Sol. (D) 6 × 5 × 7 = 210
5. Sol. (D)
ssc-maths-quiz-18-10-19
ssc-maths-quiz-18-10-19ECD = ssc-maths-quiz-18-10-19AOD = 70o (Corresponding angles as EC || OA)
ssc-maths-quiz-18-10-19BOD = 180o – 70o = 110o
ssc-maths-quiz-18-10-19OBD = 180o – 110o – 20o = 50o

6. Sol. (A) ssc-maths-quiz-18-10-19
ssc-maths-quiz-18-10-19

7. Sol. (C) Let that number be x
On multiplying it by 5, number = 5x
On adding 25, Number = 5x + 25
On dividing it by 5, Number = ssc-maths-quiz-18-10-19
On subtracting original number from it

8. Sol. (A) Number of persons in category A = x
Number of persons in categories B and C = (100 – x)
x × 70 + (100 – x) × 87.5 = 84 × 100
70x + 87.5 × 100 – 87.5x = 8400
8750 – 17.5x = 8400
17.5x = 350
x = 20

9. Sol. (D) Let total distance be 'd' km and speed of man be 's' kmpm and time taken to cover this distance be 't' minutes.
According to the question,
ssc-maths-quiz-18-10-19
Again, ssc-maths-quiz-18-10-19
and ssc-maths-quiz-18-10-19
From (I), (II) and (III), we get
d = 40

10. Sol. (D) Let x be the edge of the cube.
Given, x3 = 12x
x2 = 12
Total surface area = 6x2
= 6 × 12 = 72 sq. uni
