1. Govt appoints Hasmukh Adhia as chairman of Bank of Baroda
The government appointed former Finance Secretary Hasmukh Adhia as chairman of state-owned Bank of Baroda (BoB).
Bank of Baroda is set to become the third largest lender of the country after amalgamation with Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank effective April 1.

2. Delhi High Court Judge Valmiki Mehta dies
Justice Valmiki Mehta, judge of Delhi High Court, passed away.
Born on June 6, 1959 in Mumbai, Justice Mehta had completed his schooling in Vishakhapatnam and did graduation in B.Com (H) from Sri Venkateshwara College, Delhi University (DU) and LLB from Campus Law Centre in DU. He enrolled with the Delhi Bar Council in 1982 and started practising.

दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय के न्यायाधीश न्यायमूर्ति वाल्मीकि मेहता का निधन हो गया।
मुंबई में छह जून 1959 को जन्मे न्यायमूर्ति मेहता ने स्कूली शिक्षा विशाखापट्टनम से, बी कॉम (एच) दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के श्री वेंकटेश्वर कॉलेज से जबकि एलएलबी डीयू के कैंपस लॉ सेंटर से की। उन्होंने 1982 में दिल्ली बार काउंसिल में नामांकन कराया और वकालत शुरू की।
3. Air Marshal Nambiar, decorated for gallantry in Kargil Ops, appointed AOC-in-C of Western Command
Air Marshal Raghunath Nambiar, who played a prominent role in the Kargil Operations, took over as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Western Air Command of the IAF, officials said.

Former Jammu and Kashmir minister and senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Qazi Mohammad Afzal died. He was 76.

जम्मू-कश्मीर के पूर्व मंत्री और पीडीपी के वरिष्ठ नेता काजी मोहम्मद अफजल का निधन हो गया। वह 76 वर्ष के थे।
5. ADB to provide highest ever USD 926 mn infra loan for Mumbai metro
The Asian Development Bank will provide a record USD 926 million (around Rs 6,500 crore) to operationalise two lines of the Mumbai Metro Rail System.
