2. Pak lawyer Asma Jahangir wins UN Human Rights Prize posthumously
Pakistan's iconic human rights activist and lawyer Asma Jahangir was posthumously awarded the 2018 UN Human Rights Prize.
She was one of the four winners of the award which was announced by the United Nations.

5. Pentagon successfully tests US-Japan missile interceptor
The US military successfully shot down a medium-range ballistic missile in a test of a new interceptor system, which is being co-developed with Japan.
Sailors aboard the USS John Finn successfully detected, tracked and targeted the rocket with an SM-3 Block IIA missile during a test off the west coast of Hawaii, the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) said in a statement.
The successful operation comes after two failed intercept tests, in June 2017 and January 2018.
पेंटागन ने अमेरिका-जापान मिसाइल अवरोधक का सफल परीक्षण किया
अमेरिकी सेना ने नए इंटरसेप्टर सिस्टम का परीक्षण किया और मध्यम दूरी की बैलेस्टिक मिसाइल को सफलतापूर्ण ध्वस्त कर दिया।अमेरिका ने यह नयी प्रणाली जापान के साथ मिल कर विकसित की है।
मिसाइल डिफेंस एजेंसी (एमडीए) ने एक बयान में कहा कि ‘यूएसएस जॉन फिन’ में सवार सैनिकों ने लक्ष्य का सफलतापूर्वक पता लगाया, उसका पीछा किया और एसएम-3 ब्लॉक 11ए मिसाइल से रॉकेट दाग उसे नष्ट कर दिया। यह परीक्षण हवाई के पश्चिमी तट पर किया गया।
इससे पहले जून 2017 और जनवरी 2018 में मिसाइल को रोक कर उसे नष्ट करने के दो परीक्षण असफल रहे थे।
