Interest Rates On PPF, NSC, Other Small Savings Schemes Raised
The government has hiked interest rates on small savings schemes, including National Savings Certificate (NSC), Public Provident Fund (PPF) by up to 0.4 per cent for the October-December quarter.
The revised rates of interest on various small savings schemes will be applicable in third quarter of financial year 2018-19, starting October 1 and ending on December 31, 2018.

केंद्र सरकार ने PPF, NCS और अन्य छोटी बचत योजनाओं में ब्याज दर बढ़ा दी है। राष्ट्रीय बचत प्रमाणपत्र (एनएससी) और सार्वजनिक भविष्य निधि (पीपीएफ) समेत लघु बचत योजनाओं के लिए ब्याज दर अक्तूबर-दिसंबर तिमाही के लिए 0.4 प्रतिशत तक बढ़ा दी है।
छोटी बचत योजनाओं जैसे पब्लिक प्रोविडेंट फंड (PPF), राष्ट्रीय बचत पत्र (NSC), सुकन्या समृद्धि योजना (SSY) और पोस्ट ऑफिस टाइम डिपॉजिट के ब्याज दरों में बढ़ोतरी हुई है।बढ़ी हुई ब्याज दरें 1 अक्टूबर 2018 से 31 दिसंबर 2018 तक के लिए प्रभावी होंगी।
Sajan Bhanwal becomes first Indian to win back-to-back medals at World Junior Wrestling
India's 20-year-old wrestler Sajan Bhanwal became the first Indian to win back-to-back medals at the Junior World Wrestling Championship, after securing a silver medal in the 77kg Greco Roman category in Slovakia. The Haryana wrestler, who had won the gold at Junior Asia Championship in July, had defeated Dmytro Gardubei from Ukraine in the semifinals.

साजन भानवाल स्लोवाकिया के तरनावा में 77 किग्रा ग्रीको रोमन वर्ग में रजत पदक के साथ जूनियर विश्व कुश्ती चैंपियनशिप में लगातार दो पदक जीतने वाले पहले भारतीय बने।
जुलाई में जूनियर एशिया चैंपियनशिप में स्वर्ण पदक जीतने वाले हरियाणा के भानवाल ने इससे पहले फिनलैंड के टेम्पेयर में 2017 विश्व जूनियर चैंपियनशिप में कांस्य पदक जीता था। एक अन्य भारतीय विजय ने इससे पहले तुर्की के सिहात अहमत लिमान को 55 किग्रा ग्रीको रोमन में 16-8 से हराकर कांस्य पदक जीता।

Cabinet approves equity infusion of RCF in Talcher Fertilizers Ltd.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the proposal of the Department of Fertilizers for equity investment of Rs.1033.54 crore (+ ) @ 29.67% of the total project cost for setting up a Coal Gasification based fertilizer project in Talcher Fertilizer Ltd. (TFL) by Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited (RCF).
The revival of the Talcher project will ensure huge investment in the fertilizer sector from the Government through PSUs. This will create job opportunities and also boost the economy of the State and the eastern region. The revival of the fertilizer unit will also ensure increase in indigenous production of urea leading to greater self-reliance in urea.
तालचर फर्टिलाइजर्स लिमिटेड में आरसीएफ के इक्विटी निवेश को कैबिनेट की मंजूरी
प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में मंत्रिमंडल की आर्थिक मामलों की समिति ने तालचर फर्टिलाइजर लिमिटेड (टीएफएल) में गैस आधारित फर्टिलाइजर परियोजना शुरू करने के लिए राष्ट्रीय केमिकल एंड फर्टिलाइजर लिमिटेड (आरसीएफ) की ओर से 1033.54 करोड़ रुपये (+/-) के इक्विटी निवेश करने के उर्वरक विभाग के प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी दे दी है। यह निवेश राशि परियोजना की कुल लागत का 29.67 प्रतिशत होगी।
तालचर परियोजना के फिर से चालू होने से देश के उर्वरक क्षेत्र में सार्वजनिक उपक्रम के जरिए सरकार की ओर से बड़े पैमाने पर निवेश सुनिश्चित होगा। इससे देश के पूर्वी क्षेत्र में रोजगार की संभावनाएं पैदा होने के साथ ही संबंधित राज्य की अर्थव्यवस्था को भी मजबूती मिलेगी। उर्वरक इकाई के बहाल होने से स्वेदशी स्तर पर यूरिया का उत्पादन बढ़ेगा, जिससे यूरिया के क्षेत्र में देश ज्यादा आत्मनिर्भर हो जाएगा।
