Dear Aspirants, 


NIACL has released its Notification for the recruitment of Assistants and its online application will start from 16 July 2018. Here, we are with some Frequently Asked Questions for NIACL Assistant, so that you can clear all your doubts regarding the notification, application fees, important date, exam pattern etc.

Ques.1 What is the starting/closing date to apply online?

Ans.: Starting date for online application is 16 July 2018 and closing date is 31st July. But you are advised to apply before the last date to avoid any kind of technical glitches because we all know that generally servers get down due to heavy load on website on last days.

Ques. 2 What are the dates of the examination?

Ans.: Tier I: 08th and/or 9th September 2018 (Tentative dates)

Tier II: 6th October 2018 (Tentative)

Ques. 3 How many Number of Posts are there?

Ans.: NIACL has released the notification for 685 Posts which includes 105(SC), 60(ST), 113(OBC) and 375(General) and 32(backlog). For detailed information you can check the notification. 

Ques.4 What are the application fee?

Ans.: For SC/STIPWD/EX·SER: RS.100/.

Other than SC/STIPWD/EX·SER: RS.600/·

Ques.5 What is the Educational eligibility criteria for this post?

Ans.: A candidate must possess the minimum qualification of Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
The candidate should have passed in English as one of the subjects at SSC/ HSC/ Intermediate/ Graduation level.
Candidate should possess the certificate in proof of passing the qualifying examination as on date of application registration
Knowledge of Regional Language of the State for which a candidate applies is essential.
Candidates should know to read, write and speak the Regional Language of the State/UT against the vacancies for which a candidate wishes to apply, is essential.

Ques.6 What is the age criteria to apply for this post?

Ans.: Minimum Age: 21 years; Maximum Age: 30 years (as on. 30.06.2018) Candidates born not earlier than 1st July 1988 and not later than 30th June 1997 (both days inclusive) are only eligible to apply. The upper age limit will be relaxed as per the govt. norm.

Ques.7 I am a final year student of graduation, Am I eligible for this?

Ans.: No, it is clearly mentioned in the advertisement that you should possess the proof of qualifying the exam as on date of application registration. 

Ques.8 Is there any percentage criteria in the educational qualification?

Ans.: No, as per the notification you should just have to qualify the graduation, there is no percentage criteria. 

Ques. 9 How many Stages will there in the selection procedure?


Ans.: The selection process will consist of on-line tests (Preliminary & Main Examination). Candidates qualifying in the Main Examination will be further shortlisted for Regional Language Test before the final selection.


Ques.10 What will be the Exam Pattern For Preliminary & Mains Examination?

Ans.: Tier I: Preliminary Examination: The Preliminary Examination (Online Objective Test) for 100 marks, would be of one-hour duration and will consist of 3 sections as follows:

Total marks obtained as above shall be proportionately reduced to a base of 35 marks

Ques.11 Is there any penalty for incorrect answer?

Ans.: Yes, for each incorrect answer there will be ¼ of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.

Ques. 12 Will there be any interview after the written result?

Ans.: No, there will be no interview process for Assistant. Candidates qualifying in the Online Main Examination will be shortlisted and called for Regional Language Test, before final selection. No separate marks will be awarded for Regional Language Test. This test will be only qualifying in nature.

Ques.13 How final merit will be prepared?

Ans.: The Final Merit List state wise and category wise shall be prepared in descending order of the marks secured by the candidates in the Online Main Examination subject to qualifying the Regional Language Test. Candidates who fall within the number of vacancies in the merit list shall be considered for appointment subject to Medical Fitness.
