Assam government has appointed senior IPS officer Kuladhar Saikia as the new Director General of Police of the state. He will replace Mukesh Sahay.
He had won the Sahitya Akademi award in 2015 for his book ‘Akakhor Sobi Aaru Anyanya Galpa (Picture of the Sky and Other Tales)’.

असम सरकार ने वरिष्ठ आईपीएस अधिकारी कुलधर सैकिया को राज्य के पुलिस महानिदेशक के रूप में नियुक्त किया है। वह मुकेश सहाय की जगह लेंगे।
उन्होंने 2015 में अपनी पुस्तक 'अखखोर सोबी आरु एनीन्या गाल्पा (द स्काई एंड द टेल्स ऑफ़ द स्काई एंड अदर टेल्स) के लिए साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार जीता था।
HRD Ministry launched the second edition of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan
The Human Resource Development Ministry launched the second edition Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. Under this, students of 750 higher educational institutions of the country will adopt the villages. The main objective of this program is to create an inclusive architecture of India by incorporating the major institutions of higher education to solve the development challenges of local communities by using the appropriate technology.
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan:
• Advanced Bharat Abhiyan is a program organized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, which has been made for rural areas. This program has been created in conjunction with IIT, NIT etc.

मानव संसाधन मंत्रालय ने उन्नत भारत अभियान के दूसरे संस्करण का शुभारंभ किया इसके तहत देश भर के 750 उच्च शिक्षण संस्थानों के छात्र गांवों को गोद लेंगे| इस कार्यक्रम का मुख्य उद्देश्य उचित तकनीक का उपयोग करके स्थानीय समुदायों के विकास चुनौतियों का समाधान करने के लिए उच्च शिक्षा के प्रमुख संस्थानों को शामिल करके एक समावेशी भारत की वास्तुकला का निर्माण करना है|
उन्नत भारत अभियान:
• उन्नत भारत अभियान मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार द्वारा एक कार्यक्रम है, जिसे ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों के लिए बनाया गया है| इस कार्यक्रम को आईआईटी, एनआईटी आदि के साथ मिल कर बनाया गया है|
Exercise HARIMAU SHAKTI 2018
As part of ongoing Indo-Malaysian defence cooperation, a joint training exercise HARIMAU SHAKTI will be conducted in the dense forests of Sengai Perdik, Hulu Langat, Malaysia from 30 April 18 to 13 May 18. The exercise is aimed at bolstering cooperation & coordination between armed forces of both the nations and to share the expertise of both the contingents in conduct of counter insurgency operations in jungle terrain.
सैन्य अभ्यास ‘’हरिमऊ शक्ति’’ – 2018
भारत - मलेशिया रक्षा सहयोग के एक हिस्से के रूप में 30 अप्रैल 2018 से 13 मई 2018 तक मलेशिया के हुलु लंगट स्थित सेंगई परडिक के घने जंगलों में एक संयुक्त प्रशिक्षण अभ्यास हरिमऊ शक्ति का संचालन किया जाएगा। इस अभ्यास का उद्देश्य दोनों देशों की सेनाओं के मध्य परस्पर सहयोग और समन्वय बढ़ाना तथा घने जंगलों में अराजकता निरोध कार्रवाई के संचालन में विशेषज्ञता को साझा करना है।
World Press Freedom Index released
According to the 2018 World Press Freedom Index released by Reporters Without Borders India has dropped from rank 136 to rank 138 in the latest released report.
This report was first published in 2002. It measures the level of media freedom in 180 countries.
विश्व प्रेस स्वतंत्रता सूचकांक जारी
रिपोर्टर्स विदऑउट बॉर्डर्स (आरएसएफ) द्वारा जारी 2018 विश्व प्रेस स्वतंत्रता सूचकांक में भारत की रैकिंग 136वें स्थान से गिरकर 138वें स्थान पर पहुंच गई है।
यह रिपोर्ट सबसे पहले वर्ष 2002 में प्रकाशित हुई थी| यह 180 देशों में मीडिया स्वतंत्रता के स्तर को मापती है।
