- Veteran director Shekhar Kapur has been appointed chairman of the central panel of the 65th National Film Awards, sources in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said.
- Shekhar Kapoor has directed successful Hindi films such as 'Mr. India' and 'Maasoom'. He received international acclaim from the movie 'Bandit Queen'. His Hollywood film 'Elizabeth' was nominated for the Oscars.
- The central panel comprises a chairperson and 10 other members, including five regional chairpersons who head the respective regional panels.
- Film writer Imtiaz Hussain, known for his works in films like "Astitva" (2000) and "Parinda" (1989) will be the regional chairperson of South I panel. Mehboob, who penned the lyrics for the Hindi (dubbed) version of 1995 Tamil romantic drama "Bombay", was appointed as the regional chairperson of South II panel, the sources said.
- Actress Gautami Tadimalla, who is known for her work in Tamil films, is the regional chairman of the North panel, while director Rahul Rawail known for films like "Love Story" (1981), "Betaab" (1983), "Arjun" (1985) and "Jo Bole So Nihaal" (2005), was chosen as the regional chairperson of the Western panel, they said.

RBI Slaps Rs 58.9 Crore Fine on ICICI Bank
- The Reserve Bank of India, has imposed a penalty of Rs 58.9 crore on ICICI Bank, the country's biggest private bank and the third biggest overall, for failure to adhere to rules on sale of bonds in the held-to-maturity (HTM) category.
- This penalty has been imposed in exercise of powers vested in RBI taking into account failure of the bank to adhere to the aforesaid directions/guidelines issued by RBI.
- This is the first instance of a bank being charged with a fine of this quantum for non-compliance of this nature.
- Banks need to disclose the amount of securities they keep under the HTM segment under which the papers are held until maturity and cannot be used for intra-day trading.
- At present, RBI allows banks to sell securities from HTM subject to certain limits and disclosure rules.
आईसीआईसीआई बैंक पर आरबीआई ने 58.9 करोड़ रुपये का जुर्माना लगाया
- भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने आईसीआईसीआई बैंक पर, हेल्ड टिल मेचूरीटी (एचटीएम) श्रेणी में बॉन्ड की बिक्री पर नियमों का पालन करने में विफल रहने पर 58.9 करोड़ रुपये का जुर्माना लगाया है।
- भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने आरबीआई द्वारा जारी दिशानिर्देशों / दिशानिर्देशों का पालन करने के लिए बैंक की विफलता को ध्यान में रखते हुए अधिकारो के इस्तेमाल में यह जुर्माना लगाया गया है।
- इस प्रकृति का अनुपालन करने के लिए इस मात्रा में जुर्माना लगाए जाने का यह पहला उदाहरण है।
- बैंकों को एचटीएम सेगमेंट के तहत रखने वाली सिक्योरिटीज की संख्या का खुलासा करने की जरूरत होती है जिसके तहत कागजात परिपक्वता तक रखे जाते हैं और इंट्रा-डे ट्रेडिंग के लिए उपयोग नहीं किया जा सकता है।

American DiCarlo becomes first female UN political chief
- American diplomat Rosemary DiCarlo has been appointed as the head of UN political affairs. She is the first woman to be appointed on this post.
- DiCarlo will replace Jeffrey Feltman, another American who held the post of under-secretary-general for political affairs since 2012, overseeing UN efforts to end conflicts worldwide.

- अमेरिकी राजनयिक रोजमेरी डिकार्लो को संयुक्त राष्ट्र के राजनीतिक मामलों का प्रमुख नियुक्त किया गया है। वह इस पद पर आसीन होने वाली पहली महिला हैं।
- डिकार्लो फिलहाल इस पद पर आसीन जेफरी फेल्टमैन की जगह लेंगी। जेफरी 2012 से ही संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासचिव के मातहत इस पदपर कार्यरत थे और पूरी दुनिया में संघर्षों को समाप्त करने के संगठन के प्रयासों की निगरानी कर रहे थे।
Cabinet Approves MoU Between India And Zambia In The Field Of Judicial Cooperation
- The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Zambia in the field of Judicial Cooperation.
- During recent years, social, cultural and commercial relations between India and Zambia have developed in the positive direction. Signing of an agreement on cooperation in the field of justice will further enhance good relations between the two countries and add new dimensions in the field of judicial reforms.
