- India and France have pledged to begin work at the planned 9.6GW Jaitapur nuclear power plant in the western Indian state of Maharashtra by the end of this year.
- The Jaitapur nuclear power project, owned by Nuclear Power Corp of India (NPCIL), is to be built with an investment of Rs1.12tn ($17bn) in Jaitapur.
- A commitment towards moving the project forward was reached during a meeting between French President Emmanuel Macron and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the former’s official tour of India.
- Both Modi and Macron want NPCIL and EDF to speed up the contractual discussions to set up the new power plant in India, which will comprise six nuclear power reactor units.
- An agreement signed in this regard by India and France, represented by Department of Atomic Energy Secretary Sekhar Basu and EDF CEO Jean Bernard Levy, respectively, has prescribed a way forward for the execution of the Jaitapur nuclear power project.
- Expected to be the largest nuclear power plant in the world upon its installation, the Jaitapur project is expected to help India reach its goal of 40% non-fossil energy by 2030.
- In early 2016, EDF had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with NPCIL to develop six European pressurized reactors (EPRs) for the Jaitapur nuclear power project.
- Originally, Areva, a French state-controlled nuclear reactor manufacturer had signed an initial agreement with NPCIL in 2010 for the Jaitapur nuclear power project as part of a civil nuclear cooperation accord between India and France.
- Following the restructuring of Areva, EDF took over the responsibility of supplying reactors to the Indian project having acquired a stake of 75.5% in the former’s nuclear reactor construction business Areva NP.
- The Jaitapur nuclear power project will be financed by a group of French financial institutions in the form of a loan with both India and France agreeing to give it sovereign guarantee.

- स्थापना होने पर यह दुनिया में सबसे बड़ा परमाणु ऊर्जा संयंत्र होने की उम्मीद है, जैतपुर परियोजना से उम्मीद है कि 2030 तक भारत 40% गैर-जीवाश्म ऊर्जा के लक्ष्य तक पहुंच जाएगा।
- 2016 की शुरुआत में, ईडीएफ ने जैतापुर परमाणु ऊर्जा परियोजना के लिए छह यूरोपीय दबाव रिएक्टर (ईपीआर) विकसित करने के लिए एनपीसीआईएल के साथ समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर किए थे।

The MoU provides for:
(a) sharing of information between the two parties, subject to the limitations imposed by the applicable laws;
(b) sharing of resources available with each other to the extent feasible and legally permissible;
(c) periodic meeting to discuss matters of mutual interest,including regulatory requirements that impact each party's responsibilities, enforcement case, research and data analysis, information technology and data sharing,or any other matter that the parties believe would be of interest to each other in fulfilling their respective statutory obligation. (d) cross-training of staff in order to enhance each party's understanding of the other's mission for effective utilisation of collective resources;
(e) capacity building of insolvency professionals and financial creditors;
(f) joint efforts towards enhancing the level of awareness among financial creditors about the importance and necessity of swift insolvency resolution process of various types of borrowers in distress under the provisions of the Code, etc.
दिवाला और दिवालियापन बोर्ड ऑफ इंडिया ने भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक के साथ समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किया है
समझौता ज्ञापन प्रदान करता है:
(a) लागू होने वाले कानूनों द्वारा लगाए गए सीमाओं के अधीन, दोनों पक्षों के बीच सूचना साझा करना;

(c) आपसी हित के मामलों पर चर्चा करने के लिए आवधिक बैठक, नियामक आवश्यकताओं सहित प्रत्येक पार्टी की ज़िम्मेदारी, प्रवर्तन केस, अनुसंधान और डेटा विश्लेषण, सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी और डेटा साझाकरण, या कोई भी अन्य मामला जिस में पार्टियों का मानना है कि उनके संबंधित सांविधिक दायित्व को पूरा करने में एक दूसरे के हित का होगा।
(d) सामूहिक संसाधनों के प्रभावी उपयोग के लिए प्रत्येक पार्टी के दूसरे मिशन को समझने के लिए कर्मचारियों के क्रॉस-ट्रेनिंग;
(e) दिवाला पेशेवरों और वित्तीय लेनदारों की क्षमता निर्माण;
(एफ) कोड के प्रावधानों के तहत संकट में विभिन्न प्रकार के उधारकर्ताओं की तेजी से दिवालिया होने की संकल्प प्रक्रिया के महत्व और आवश्यकता के बारे में वित्तीय लेनदारों के बीच जागरूकता के स्तर को बढ़ाने के लिए संयुक्त प्रयास।
- Members registered on the UAN portal may get their details available with EPFO by giving a missed call at 011-22901406 from their registered mobile number. If the UAN of the member is seeded with any one of the Bank A/c number, AADHAAR and PAN, the member will get details of last contribution and PF balance. To avail this facility, mobile number must be activated with UAN at Unified Portal. Giving missed call from registered mobile number at 011-22901406 automatically gets disconnected after two rings. This service is available free of cost to the member. Moreover, these services can be availed from non-smart phones also.
- The information for availing missed call facility and SMS service for getting PF balance and last contribution is now available on UMANG app also.
- Universal Account Number (UAN) activated members may know their latest PF contribution and balance available with EPFO by sending an SMS at 7738299899 from registered mobile number. The Member has to SMS “EPFOHO UAN” to 7738299899. The facility is available in 10 languages viz. English (default), Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannad, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Bengali. For receiving SMS in any of the languages other than English, first three characters of the preferred language needs to be added after UAN. For example, to receive SMS in Telugu, then SMS to be send will be “EPFOHO UAN TEL” to 7738299899
- SMS should be sent from the registered mobile number of UAN. In response, EPFO will send last PF contribution and balance details of the member alongwith available KYC information.

- यूनिवर्सल एकाउंट नम्बर (यूएएन) पोर्टल पर पंजीकृत सदस्य ईपीएफओ में उपलब्ध विवरण की जानकारी अपने पंजीकृत मोबाइल नम्बर से 011-22901406 पर मिस्ड कॉल देकर प्राप्त कर सकते हैं। यदि सदस्य का यूएएन किसी भी एक बैंक खाते, आधार और पैन से जुड़ा हुआ है तो सदस्य को अंतिम योगदान और भविष्य निधि बचत का विवरण मिल सकता है। इस सुविधा का लाभ उठाने के लिए यूनिफाइड पोर्टल का यूएएन सक्रिय होना चाहिए। 011-22901406 पर पंजीकृत मोबाइल नम्बर से मिस्ड कॉल देने पर दो घंटियां बजने के बाद फोन स्वत: कट जाएगा। सदस्य के लिए यह सेवा मुफ्त उपलब्ध है। इसके अलावा इन सेवाओं का लाभ गैर स्मार्ट फोनों से भी उठाया जा सकता है।
- भविष्य निधि बचत और अंतिम भुगतान की जानकारी के लिए मिस्ड कॉल और एसएमएस सेवा से जानकारी प्राप्त करने की सुविधा उमंग ऐप पर भी उपलब्ध है।
- यूएएन सक्रिय सदस्य अपने पंजीकृत मोबाइल नम्बर से 7738299899 पर एसएमएस भेजकर ईपीएफओ के पास उपलब्ध बचत और नवीनतम पीएफ योगदान की जानकारी ले सकते हैं। सदस्य को ‘ईपीएफओएचओ यूएएन’ लिखकर 7738299899 पर एसएमएस भेजना होगा। यह सुविधा 10 भाषाओं यानि अंग्रेजी, हिन्दी, पंजाबी, गुजराती, मराठी, कन्नड़, तेलुगु, तमिल, मलयालम और बांग्ला में उपलब्ध है। अंग्रेजी को छोड़कर किसी भी भाषा एसएमएस प्राप्त करने के लिए चुनी गई भाषा के पहले तीन शब्द यूएएन के बाद डालने होंगे। उदाहरण के लिए तेलुगु में एसएमएस प्राप्त करने के लिए एसएमएस ‘ईपीएफओएचओ यूएएन टीइएल’ लिखकर 7738299899 पर भेजना होगा।
