The 71st British Academy Film Awards, more commonly known as the BAFTAs, were held on 18 February 2018 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, to honour the best national and foreign films of 2017. Presented by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts(BAFTA), accolades are handed out for the best feature-length film and documentaries of any nationality screened at British cinemas in 2017.

Veteran Telugu Actor-Comedian Gundu Hanumantha Rao Passes Away
- Well-known Telugu comedian Gundu Hanumantha Rao died in Hyderabad. He was 61.
- The actor was suffering from kidney ailments and passed away at his home at around 3am.
- Rao was born in Vijayawada on October 10, 1956.
- He started out with theatre, making his debut at a young age with a play called Ravana Brahma in Vijayawada.
- He got his first major break with Aha Naa Pellanta, a film released in 1987.
- In the Jandhyala-directed film, Rao played the groom’s father who was hard of hearing.
- The actor went on to work in nearly 400 films including Pellaniki Premalekha Priyuraliki Subhalekha, Rajendradu Gajendradu, Mayaloodu, Nenu Seetamahalakshmi, Kedi No 1, Apparao Driving School, Kalyanam and Original.
- However, it was the TV series Amrutam that earned him an iconic stature and three Nandi awards.

Mahindra To Invest 176 Crore In Zoomcar
- Mahindra and Mahindra will invest Rs 176 Crore in Zoomcar India Private Limited and in Zoomcar Inc.
- The investment will convert to stocks of 16 percent stake in Zoomcar Inc.
- The deal would be second stage of partnership between car rental company and Mahindra and Mahindra.
- Last year, Mahindra and Zoomcar announced partnership to introduce electric vehicles in shared mobility service.
- Zoomcar recently launched Mahindra e-20 plus electric vehicles across Mysore, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

- The travel time between Mumbai to Pune will be shortened to just 14-25 minutes.

- The cost of travel will be same price as travelling in a cab or airplane.
- Virgin Hyperloop One signed the framework agreement with the Maharashtra government to build a hyperloop.
- The hyperloop between Pune and Mumbai will begin with an operational demonstration track.
- Sir Richard Branson is Virgin Group Founder and chairman of Virgin Hyperloop One.
- The Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis were also present at Magnetic Maharashtra event.
- Other key investors of Hyperloop One are Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, CEO and Group Chairman of DP World, and Ziyavudin Magomedov, Chairman of Summa Group.
- India will be the first market for Hyperloop One.
