Q2.) A man read 2/5 part of a book in 1st day, 34% in second day and remaining page in next two days. In two days he read equal number of page. If he read 52 page on last day, then find out how many page did the book contain?


एक व्यक्ति पहले दिन किसी किताब का  2/5 भाग, दूसरे दिन 34% और शेष भाग को अगले दो दिनों में पढता है। यदि उसने दो दिनों में समान पेजों की संख्या को पढ़ा। और अंतिम दिन में पढ़े गए पेजों की संख्या 52 थी, तो किताब में पेजों की संख्या क्या थी ?


1.) 500             2.) 560             3.) 510             4.) 460             5.) 400

Sol:

1st day he read = 40%
2nd day he read =34 %
remaining = 100% - (40% +34%) = 26%
Last day he read =13%
13% = 52
1% = 4
100% = 400
Total page is 400.

Q3.) In a school, number of girls is 75% of number of boys. Difference between boys and girls is 30. On a particular day 20% girls were absent, then find the number of girls those who present?

एक स्कूल में लड़कियों की संख्या, लड़कों की संख्या का 75% है।लड़कों और लड़कियों की संख्या के बीच अंतर 30 है। किसी दिन 20% लड़कियां अनुपस्थित थी, तो उपस्थित लड़कियों की संख्या ज्ञात कीजिये ?


1.) 90               2.) 18               3.) 168             4.) 72   5.) 42

Sol:

Ratio of boys and girls = 100% : 75% = 4:3
Difference is 1 unit=30
So, 3 units = 90
If 20% absent, that’s mean 80% present.
So, present girls = 80% of 90 = 72

Q4.) If radius and height of a cylinder increase by 20% and15% respectively. then what is the % change in curved surface area?

यदि एक बेलन की त्रिज्या और ऊंचाई क्रमशः 20% और15% बढ़ा दी जाती है तो बेलन का वक्रपृष्ठीय क्षेत्रफल क्या होगा ?

Together can do 5 units.
In 8 days they can do = 5 x 8 =40 unit
Remaining is = 60 – 40 = 20 unit
If they work alternately
1st day B will do 2 units.
2nd day A will do 3 units.
2 days they will do 5 units.
To complete 20 units, it will take = 8
Total days = 8 +8 =16 days

Q6.) Ratio of earnings of Neetu and Bakhsi is 7 : 13. If the earnings of Neetu increase by 25% and those of Bakhsi decrease by 30%, the new ratio of their earnings become 6 : 8. What is Neetu’s earnings?

नीतू और बख्शी की आय में 7 : 13 का अनुपात है। यदि नीतू की आय में 25% की वृद्धि और बख्शी की आय में 30% की वृद्धि हुई हो तो उनकी आय का नया अनुपात 6 : 8 हो जाता है।नीतू की आय क्या है?

50/3 – x = 120/18 => x=10 x 18/5 = 36 km/hr

Q8.) A, B and C enter into a partnership in the ratio 2 : 3 : 5 . After 2 months, A increases his share 20% and B by 10%. If the total profit at the end of one year is Rs 190500, what amount have C at the end of year?

Sol:

Let amounts invested be 2x, 3x, 5x resp.
Then ratio of profits (A : B : C)
2x × 2 + (120/100) × 2x × 10 : 3x × 2 + (110/100) × 3x × 10 : 5x × 12
28x : 39x : 60x
C’s share = [60/(28+39+60)] × 190500 = Rs. 90000

Q9.) 12 persons are seated around a circular table. Find the probability that 3 particular persons always seated together.

Sol :

Total no of ways = (12 – 1)! = 11!
Number of favorable ways = (10 – 1)! = 9!
So, required probability = (9! x 3!) /11! = 3/55

Q10.) A sum of money becomes Rs 35280 after 2 years and Rs 37,044 after 3 years when lent on compound interest. Find the principal amount.

कोई धन जब चक्रवृद्धि ब्याज की दर से उधार दिया जाता है तो 2 वर्ष बाद 35280 रुपये और 3 वर्ष के बाद 37044 हो जाता है। मूलधन क्या होगा ?


1.) 3000           2.) 3100           3.) 3200           4.) 3300           5.) 3500

Sol :

37044 = P x (1 +r/100)3
35280 = P x (1 + r/100)2
Divide one equation to another equation to get the value of r and then substitute in any equation and we get P = Rs. 3200
