1. Indian-origin Madhu Valli has won the 'Miss India Worldwide' 2017 title. Stephanie Madavane from France was declared runner up at the beauty pageant held in New Jersey. Sangeeta Bahadur from Guyana took the third spot at the pageant that had contestants from 18 countries.
भारतीय मूल की मधु वल्ली ने 'मिस इंडिया वर्ल्डवाइड' 2017 का खिताब जीता। न्यूजर्सी में हुई इस सौंदर्य प्रतियोगिता में फ्रांस की स्टेफनी मैडवने दूसरे नंबर पर रहीं। प्रतियोगिता में 18 देशों की प्रतिभागियों ने हिस्सा लिया, जिसमें गुयाना की संगीता बहादुर तीसरे नंबर पर रहीं।
2. Chairman and CEO of Pepsico India, D Shivakumar has resigned from the company after serving for nearly four years. Shivakumar has been replaced by Ahmed El Sheikh, Senior Vice President and General Manager for PepsiCo Egypt and Jodan.
पेप्सिको इंडिया के चेयरमैन एवं मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (सीईओ) डी शिवकुमार ने करीब चार साल की सेवा के बाद कंपनी से इस्तीफा दे दिया है। अहमद अल शेख ने शिवकुमार का स्थान लिया है। शेख पेप्सिको के मिस्र और जॉर्डन के वरिष्ठ उपाध्यक्ष एवं महाप्रबंधक हैं।
3. Professor Jagdish Mukhi sworn in as the new Governor of Assam. He succeeded Banwarilal Purohit who has been appointed as the Governor of Tamil Nadu.
प्रोफेसर जगदीश मुखी ने असम के राज्यपाल पद की शपथ ली। उन्होंने बनवारी लाल पुरोहित का स्थान लिया है जिन्हें तमिलनाडु का राज्यपाल नियुक्त किया गया है।
4. According to Brand Finance’s Nation Brands 2017, India is ranked the eighth most valuable nation brand while the United States retained its top position and China is at second spot in this list.
ब्रांड फाइनेंस के नेशन ब्रैंड्स 2017 के अनुसार, भारत आठवां सबसे मूल्यवान राष्ट्र ब्रांड है, जबकि संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका ने शीर्ष स्थान बरकरार है और चीन इस सूची में दूसरे स्थान पर है।
5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (PMGDISHA) at Gandhinagar in Gujarat. PMGDISHA is expected to make 6 crore rural households digitally literate by March 2019, making it one of the largest digital literacy programmes in the world.
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने गुजरात के गांधीनगर में प्रधानमंत्री ग्रामीण डिजिटल साक्षरता अभियान (पीएमजीदिशा) का शुभारंभ किया। पीएमजीडीशा अभियान द्वारा मार्च 201 9 तक 6 करोड़ ग्रामीण परिवारों को डिजिटल साक्षर बनाने की उम्मीद की है, जिससे यह दुनिया के सबसे बड़े डिजिटल साक्षरता कार्यक्रमों में से एक बन जायेगा।
6. Uttarakhand Government and a charitable funding agency named Swan Cultural Centre and Foundation, launched an inititative named ‘Solar Briefcase’ to provide electricity in remote areas in the state.
उत्तराखंड सरकार और स्वान सांस्कृतिक केंद्र और फाउंडेशन नामक एक धर्मार्थ वित्त पोषण एजेंसी ने राज्य के दूरदराज के क्षेत्रों में बिजली उपलब्ध कराने के लिए 'सोलर ब्रीफकेस' नामक अभियान की शुरुआत की।
7. Noted Novelist T D Radhakrishnan has been selected for this year’s prestigious Vayalar award. The award will be presented to him on October 27, 2017, the death anniversary of poet and lyricist Vayalar Ramavarma.
प्रसिद्ध उपन्यासकार टी डी राधाकृष्णन को इस वर्ष के प्रतिष्ठित वयलार पुरस्कार के लिए चुना गया है। उन्हें यह पुरस्कार, 27 अक्टूबर, 2017 को कवि और गीतकार वायलर रामाकृष्ण की पुण्यतिथि पर प्रस्तुत किया जाएगा।
