1. HACKNEYED (ADJECTIVE): Clichéd, tired

Synonyms:  commonstereotyped    

Antonyms:  originalfresh,

Example Sentence: That's the old hackneyed phrase, but it's true.


Synonyms: gauntwasted    

Antonyms: vigorousenergetic

Example Sentence: He was pale and a bit haggard.

3. HAGGLE (VERB):  To bargain

Synonyms: barter, argue                 

Antonyms: agree, concur

Example Sentence: We should haggle for a better price.

 4. HANKER (VERB): To have a strong desire for something

Synonyms: yearn, thirst                  

Antonyms: dislike, hate 

Example Sentence: He had hankered after fame all his life.

5. HASSLE (VERB): Bother

Synonyms: harass, pester          

Antonyms:  help, aid

Example Sentence: My wife started hassling me.

6. HECKLE (VERB):  Jeer

Synonyms: badger, embarrass            

Antonyms:  praise, comfort 

Example Sentence:

He was insulted and heckled mercilessly.

7. HECTOR (VERB): Bully

Synonyms: threaten, menace                

Antonyms: support, help

Example Sentence: My boss hectored me in the presence of all teammates.

 8. HOODWINK (VERB): Deceive

Synonyms: bilk, defraud      

Antonyms: protect, help

Example Sentence:  I never expected that I would be hoodwinked by me brother.


Synonyms: abhorrent, disastrous                      

Antonyms: beautiful, delightful

Example Sentence: This is the most horrendous fight that I have ever seen.


Synonyms: kind, generous   

Antonyms:  inhospitable, parsimonious

Example Sentence:Mr. Abbas is very hospitable by nature.
