1. The government appointed Ajay Tyagi, additional secretary in the finance ministry, as the new chairman of Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi). He will take over from U K Sinha on March 1.

This Braille Atlas has been prepared by National Atlas and Thematic Mapping Organisation (NATMO) under Department of Science & Technology.

5. Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has set a Guinness World Record by building the world's tallest sand castle, which stood 48 feet and 8 inches tall.

9. India’s first National Women’s Parliament began in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. The three-day conference, which is the first of its kind, is being organised by the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
