1. ACQUAINT (VERB): inform oneself or another about something new 

Synonyms: apprise, accustom 

Antonyms: delude, conceal 

Example Sentence: 

You will first need to acquaint yourself with the filing system. 


2. APPROBATION (NOUN): approval or agreement 

Synonyms: permission, consent Antonyms: disapproval, refusal 

Example Sentence: 

His bravery received the approbation of the whole town. 


3. AVER (VERB): to state firmly and strongly that something is true 

Synonyms: assert, declare Antonyms: deny, disclaim 

Example Sentence: 

She averred that she had never seen the man before. 


4. BEFOG (VERB): to make confused 

Synonyms: dazzle, daze Antonyms: clarify, cleanse 

Example Sentence: 

My brain was befogged by lack of sleep. 


5. BLANDISHMENT (NOUN): flattery 

Synonyms: adulation, cajolery Antonyms: criticism, denunciation
