1. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the merger of New
India Co-operative Bank Limited (NICBL) with Saraswat Co-operative Bank.The
merger process was initiated after both the banks received shareholders' approval
and approached the RBI. The RBI has approved the merger scheme under section
44A(4) and section 56 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.

5. Sikkim became the first
state in India to launch a formal sabbatical leave scheme (launched in August 2023).
The scheme allows regular government employees with at least 5 years of

6. A significant milestone in regional clean
energy cooperation has been achieved with the launch of the Dorjilung
Hydropower Project in Bhutan. This 1125 MW project is a joint venture between
Bhutan's state-owned company Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC) and India's

is located in Bhutan's eastern Lhuentse and Mongar districts on the Kurichhu
