Pakistan Under-19 defeated India Under-19 by a massive margin of 191 runs. This
was Pakistan's second Under-19 Asia Cup title and their first since 2012.
Pakistan posted a formidable total of 347/8 in their 50 overs, setting a
challenging target. Pakistan won the Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 title, beating
India by a huge margin of 191 runs in the final. The tournament was held in the
United Arab Emirates (UAE) from December 12 to 21, 2025.

4 The third
of eight indigenously designed and built Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water
Craft (ASW SWC) vessels, the INS Anjadip, was commissioned into the Indian Navy
in Chennai on December 22, 2023. These
vessels, built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata,
are the largest waterjet-propelled warships of the Indian Navy and are equipped
with state-of-the-art lightweight torpedoes, indigenously developed
anti-submarine rockets, and shallow-water sonar. The ship is named after
Anjadip Island, located off the coast of Karwar in Karnataka, underscoring
India's commitment to protecting its vast maritime domain.

5. A free
trade agreement has been finalized between India and New Zealand. Indian Prime
Minister Narendra Modi and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon held a
telephone conversation, and the two leaders jointly announced a significant
India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The agreement will facilitate
investments worth $20 million between the two countries. This is India's
seventh FTA in recent years, following agreements with Oman, the UK, EFTA
countries, the UAE, Australia, and Mauritius.

6. Recent forecasts indicate the likelihood of rain and snowfall in
the Kashmir Valley, marking the beginning of 'Chilla-i-Kalan', considered the
harshest period of winter in Kashmir. This period typically lasts from December
21st to January 30th. Chilla-i-Kalan (the great cold) will end on January 30th,
followed by 'Chilla-i-Khurd' (the small cold) and 'Chilla-i-Bachha' (the mild
cold).

7 The National Commission for Women (NCW) has announced the
‘Shakti Scholars: NCW Young Research Fellowship’ program, a significant step
towards empowering women and protecting their rights. The primary objective of
this fellowship is to encourage young researchers to conduct in-depth and
policy-oriented research on various issues related to women in India. This
fellowship is open exclusively to Indian citizens aged 21 to 30 years. The
minimum educational qualification required is a graduate degree from a
recognized institution. However, preference will be given to candidates pursuing
or having completed postgraduate or doctoral research.

8. Ira
"Ike" Schab, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a survivor of
the Pearl Harbor attack, has died at the age of 105. He was born on July 4,
1920, in Chicago, Illinois. He survived the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on
December 7, 1941, which killed more than 2,400 American servicemen and led to
the United States' entry into World War II. After the war, he contributed to
the Apollo space program while working for General Dynamics.

10. ISRO has successfully completed the drogue parachute
qualification tests for the Gaganyaan crew module. These tests were conducted
at the Rail Track Rocket Sled (RTRS) facility in Chandigarh under the
supervision of DRDO. The drogue parachutes help stabilize the crew module and
slow its descent during re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere. The Gaganyaan
mission aims to send three astronauts into a 400-kilometer orbit for three
days.
