1 The 28th meeting of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) and the 22nd Steering Committee meeting of Project Elephant were held on December 21, 2025, at the Sundarbans Tiger Reserve in West Bengal, under the chairmanship of the Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav. The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) was established in December 2005 on the recommendation of the Tiger Task Force and is a statutory body under Section 38L(1) of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, as amended in 2006, with the primary objective of conserving tigers and their habitats in India.

राष्ट्रीय बाघ संरक्षण प्राधिकरण (एनटीसीए) की 28वीं बैठक और परियोजना हाथी की 22वीं संचालन समिति की बैठक 21 दिसंबर 2025 को पश्चिम बंगाल के सुंदरबन बाघ अभ्यारण्य में केंद्रीय पर्यावरण, वन और जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्री श्री भूपेंद्र यादव की अध्यक्षता में आयोजित की गई। राष्ट्रीय बाघ संरक्षण प्राधिकरण (NTCA) की स्थापना दिसंबर 2005 में टाइगर टास्क फोर्स की सिफारिश पर की गई थी और यह वन्यजीव (संरक्षण) अधिनियम, 1972 की धारा 38L(1) के तहत एक वैधानिक निकाय है, जो 2006 में संशोधित होकर लागू हुआ था, जिसका मुख्य उद्देश्य भारत में बाघों और उनके आवासों का संरक्षण करना है।

2   The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has released the RESPOND Basket 2025, inviting research proposals from universities and academic institutions across the country. This initiative aims to align academic research with ISRO's current and future space mission requirements, enabling advanced scientific research to directly contribute to national space goals. The goal is to connect India's vast academic talent and young researchers with strategic national programs.

भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (ISRO) ने RESPOND Basket 2025 जारी किया है, जिसके तहत देशभर के विश्वविद्यालयों और शैक्षणिक संस्थानों से अनुसंधान प्रस्ताव आमंत्रित किए गए हैं। इस पहल का उद्देश्य शैक्षणिक अनुसंधान को ISRO की वर्तमान और भविष्य की अंतरिक्ष मिशन आवश्यकताओं के साथ जोड़ना है, ताकि उन्नत वैज्ञानिक शोध सीधे राष्ट्रीय अंतरिक्ष लक्ष्यों में योगदान दे सके।  भारत की विशाल शैक्षणिक प्रतिभा और युवा शोधकर्ताओं को रणनीतिक राष्ट्रीय कार्यक्रमों से जोड़ना।

3 Aerospace engineer Misha Benthaus has made history by becoming the first wheelchair user to travel to space. She launched from West Texas aboard Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket, along with five other people. The short flight lasted approximately 10-12 minutes, giving the passengers the opportunity to view Earth from space and experience weightlessness. Benthaus has been using a wheelchair since an accident in 2018 and works for the European Space Agency. This mission is being referred to as NS-37.

एयरोस्पेस इंजीनियर मिची बेंटहॉस ने इतिहास रच दिया है, क्योंकि वह अंतरिक्ष में जाने वाली पहली व्हीलचेयर यूज़र बन गई हैं । वह पांच अन्य लोगों के साथ वेस्ट टेक्सास से ब्लू ओरिजिन के न्यू शेपर्ड रॉकेट से उड़ान भरीं । यह छोटी उड़ान लगभग 10-12 मिनट तक चली , जिससे यात्रियों को अंतरिक्ष से पृथ्वी देखने और भारहीनता का अनुभव करने का मौका मिला। बेंटहॉस 2018 में हुए एक एक्सीडेंट के बाद से व्हीलचेयर का इस्तेमाल कर रही हैं और यूरोपियन स्पेस एजेंसी में काम करती हैं। इस मिशन को NS-37 कहा जा रहा  है।

 4 The Losar festival is celebrated in Ladakh with great joy and enthusiasm as the New Year. According to the Tibetan lunar calendar, Losar is the first day of the new year. It is traditionally celebrated with great fanfare, including prayers, mask dances, traditional foods, and rituals to ward off evil spirits, and the festivities last for several days. It is a time to celebrate the victory of good over evil, express gratitude to the deities, and seek blessings for the coming year.

लोसर पर्व को लद्दाख में नव वर्ष के रूप में पूरे हर्षो-उल्लास के साथ मनाया जाता है। तिब्बती चंद्र कैलेंडर के अनुसार, लोसर नए साल का पहला दिन है। पारंपरिक रूप से इसे बड़े धूमधाम से मनाया जाता है , जिसमें प्रार्थनाएं, मुखौटा नृत्य, पारंपरिक भोजन और बुरी आत्माओं को दूर भगाने के लिए अनुष्ठान किए जाते हैं, और यह उत्सव कई दिनों तक चलता है। यह बुराई पर अच्छाई की जीत, देवताओं के प्रति आभार और आने वाले वर्ष के लिए आशीर्वाद मांगने का समय है।

 5. IIFL Finance has appointed former RBI Deputy Governor B.P. Kanungo as the non-executive chairman of its board. He served as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India from 2017 to 2021 and was a member of the Monetary Policy Committee. IIFL Finance is a leading non-banking financial company in India, offering a wide range of financial services including home loans, gold loans, personal loans, SME loans, microfinance, and wealth management. IIFL Finance received its direct NBFC license in March 2020 after merging with its subsidiary, India Infoline Finance.

आईआईएफएल फाइनेंस ने आरबीआई के पूर्व डिप्टी गवर्नर बीपी कानूनगो को बोर्ड के गैर-कार्यकारी अध्यक्ष के रूप में नियुक्त किया है। उन्होंने 2017 से 2021 तक भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक के उप राज्यपाल के रूप में कार्य किया और मौद्रिक नीति समिति के सदस्य थे। आईआईएफएल फाइनेंस भारत की एक प्रमुख गैर-बैंकिंग वित्तीय कंपनी  है, जो गृह ऋण, स्वर्ण ऋण, व्यक्तिगत ऋण, SME ऋण, माइक्रोफाइनेंस और धन प्रबंधन सहित कई तरह की वित्तीय सेवाएँ प्रदान करती है। आईआईएफएल फाइनेंस को सीधे NBFC लाइसेंस मार्च 2020 में अपनी सब्सिडियरी इंडिया इनफोलाइन फाइनेंस के साथ विलय के बाद मिला।

6. India's recent discovery of 7.23 million tonnes of rare earth reserves is set to be a game-changer for its tech and green energy sectors. These minerals are crucial for products such as mobile phones, electric vehicles (EVs), and renewable energy technologies. This discovery will reduce India's dependence on imports, particularly from China, and support the country's goal of self-reliance. Andhra Pradesh's 974-kilometer-long coastline holds strategic importance due to its vast reserves of rare earth elements (REEs) found in the beach sands. This mineral-rich belt stretches along the coast from Srikakulam in the north to Nellore in the south.

​भारत को हाल ही में 7.23 मिलियन टन दुर्लभ पृथ्वी भंडार मिलने से उसके टेक और ग्रीन एनर्जी सेक्टर के लिए यह एक गेम-चेंजर साबित होगा। ये खनिज मोबाइल फोन, इलेक्ट्रिक वाहन (EV) और रिन्यूएबल एनर्जी टेक्नोलॉजी जैसे प्रोडक्ट्स के लिए बहुत ज़रूरी हैं। इस खोज से भारत की आयात पर निर्भरता कम होगी, खासकर चीन से, और देश के आत्मनिर्भरता के लक्ष्य को भी सपोर्ट मिलेगा। आंध्र प्रदेश की 974 किलोमीटर लंबी तटरेखा को समुद्री रेत में पाए जाने वाले दुर्लभ पृथ्वी तत्वों (REEs) के विशाल भंडार के कारण रणनीतिक महत्व प्राप्त है। यह खनिज-समृद्ध पट्टी उत्तर में श्रीकाकुलम से लेकर दक्षिण में नेल्लोर तक तट के किनारे फैली हुई है।

7 HarperCollins India released the book 'Salman Khan: The Sultan of Bollywood', written by Mohar Basu, on December 20, 2025, coinciding with superstar Salman Khan's 60th birthday. ​​This book, authored by Mohar Basu, is not merely a biography, but a blend of film analysis, rare photographs, fan anecdotes, and memorable moments from Salman Khan's journey to stardom. The book beautifully captures the enduring magic and cultural impact of Salman Khan's screen presence.

हार्परकॉलिन्स इंडिया ने 20 दिसंबर, 2025 को सुपरस्टार सलमान खान के 60वें जन्मदिन के अवसर पर मोहर बसु द्वारा लिखित पुस्तक 'सलमान खान: द सुल्तान ऑफ बॉलीवुड' का विमोचन किया। मोहर बसु द्वारा लिखित यह पुस्तक मात्र जीवनी नहीं है, बल्कि इसमें फिल्म विश्लेषण, दुर्लभ तस्वीरें, प्रशंसकों के किस्से और सलमान खान के स्टारडम के यादगार पलों का मिश्रण है। यह पुस्तक सलमान खान की पर्दे पर उपस्थिति के अमिट जादू और सांस्कृतिक प्रभाव को बखूबी दर्शाती है।

 8. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj is organizing a two-day ‘PESA Festival’ as a celebration of folk culture to commemorate the anniversary of the enactment of the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act, 1996 (PESA). This festival will be held on December 23 and 24, 2025, in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Under Article 243M(4)(b) of the Constitution of India, Parliament enacted the “Provisions of the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act, 1996” (popularly known as the PESA Act) to extend the provisions of Part IX of the Constitution to Scheduled Areas with certain exceptions and modifications.

पंचायती राज मंत्रालय द्वारा पंचायत (अनुसूचित क्षेत्रों तक विस्तार) अधिनियम, 1996 (पेसा) के लागू होने की वर्षगांठ के अवसर पर लोक संस्कृति के उत्सव के रूप में दो दिवसीय ‘पेसा महोत्सव’ का आयोजन किया जा रहा है। यह महोत्सव 23 और 24 दिसंबर, 2025 को आंध्र प्रदेश के विशाखापत्तनम में आयोजित होगा। भारत के संविधान के अनुच्छेद 243एम(4)(बी) के तहत संसद ने संविधान के भाग-IX के प्रावधानों को कुछ अपवादों और संशोधनों के साथ अनुसूचित क्षेत्रों तक विस्तारित करने हेतु “पंचायतों के प्रावधान (अनुसूचित क्षेत्रों तक विस्तार) अधिनियम, 1996” (जिसे पेसा अधिनियम कहा जाता है) अधिनियमित किया।
