1 A 3.5 billion-year-old crater on Mars has been officially named
'Krishnan' by the International Astronomical Union (IAU), in honor of
pioneering Indian geologist M.S. Krishnan. The IAU has also approved
Kerala-based names – Valiyamala, Thumba, Bekal, Varkala and Periyar – for
smaller Martian landforms such as craters and vallis (valleys).

2 India has secured the
third position in the Asia Power Index 2025 released by the Australia-based
Lowy Institute, while the US is at first and China at second. The 7th edition
of the index assessed 27 countries and territories using 131 indicators,
categorised across eight thematic parameters - military capability, economic
strength, diplomatic influence, cultural influence, resilience and future
resources.

3 India has signed Letters
of Offer and Acceptance (LOAs) with the United States to secure continued
support worth over ₹7,900 crore for the Indian Navy's MH-60R helicopters. This
ongoing package includes spare parts, product support, technical assistance,
training, and component repair facilities to be established in India. The MH60R
helicopters are equipped with anti-submarine warfare capabilities and are critical
to India's maritime security.

4 China has
completed construction and begun operation of its JUNO detector, filled with
20,000 tons of liquid scintillator, making it the world's largest neutrino
detector. The detector is located 700 meters deep beneath a mountainside near
Jiangmen City in southern China. Its primary purpose is to unravel the
mysteries of neutrinos, known as "ghost particles." This provides an
ideal low-noise environment for detecting extremely faint neutrino signals.

5. Renowned
Bharatanatyam dancer Kumari Kamala (Baby Kamala) passed away in California at
the age of 91. Trained by Vazhuvoor Ramaiah Pillai, she epitomized the
Vazhuvoor bani. A recipient of major awards such as the Padma Bhushan (1970),
the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (1968) and the US National Heritage Fellowship,
she is remembered as a cultural ambassador of Indian classical dance.
Bharatanatyam is a classical dance form of South India that originated in the
temples of Tamil Nadu and was also known as 'Devadasi Attam'.

6. According to the new United Nations (UN) report World Urbanization
Prospects 2025, Indonesia's capital Jakarta has now become the world's most
populous city. According to the report, Jakarta's population has now reached
about 42 million, which is equal to the total population of the entire country
of Canada. Jakarta has surpassed Japan's capital Tokyo, which was the most
populous city in the world for a long time. Delhi and NCR (Noida, Ghaziabad,
Faridabad, Gurugram etc.) are also counted together. Due to this, the
population of Delhi is estimated to be around 33 million.

7 The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday said it has imposed a
penalty of Rs 91 lakh on HDFC Bank Ltd for violating the provisions of the
Banking Regulation Act, 1949 and non-compliance with RBI directions on interest
rates on advances, outsourcing of financial services and Know Your Customer
(KYC) norms.

8. Cyclone
Ditwa is moving from the northwest Bay of Bengal towards the coastal areas of
Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andhra Pradesh. Cyclone Ditwa is expected to bring
heavy rainfall to the eastern coastal areas of the country until December 1st.
Heavy rainfall is expected in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. Heavy
rainfall is also expected in Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Mahe. A cyclone is a
large, rotating storm that forms around a low-pressure area over tropical
oceans.

माहे में भी तेज बारिश का अनुमान है। चक्रवात (cyclone) एक
विशाल, घूमने वाला तूफान है जो उष्णकटिबंधीय महासागरों पर कम
दबाव वाले क्षेत्र के चारों ओर बनता है।
9. The President attended
the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the Bharat Scouts and Guides in Lucknow,
the capital of Uttar Pradesh, and addressed its 19th National Jamboree. The
Bharat Scouts and Guides was founded on November 7, 1950, in independent India.
There are over 6.3 million Scouts and Guides in India, making the Bharat Scouts
and Guides one of the largest Scouts and Guides organizations in the world.
Scouting in India began in 1909 when Captain T. H. Baker founded the first
troop in Bengaluru. Guiding was introduced in 1911.

10 Indian researchers have
developed OncoMark, an AI-powered cancer diagnostic model that analyzes tumors
at the molecular level and offers far greater accuracy than traditional
staging. Developed by the S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences and
Ashoka University, the tool identifies biological features such as metastasis,
immune escape, genomic instability, and uncontrolled proliferation.
