1. In India, Teachers' Day is dedicated to the first Vice President and second President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Apart from being a politician, he was also a great teacher, scholar and famous philosopher. He was born on 5 September in Tiruttani, Tamil Nadu in the year 1888. This day is celebrated as Teachers' Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli.

​भारत में शिक्षक दिवस का दिन पहले उपराष्ट्रपति और दूसरे राष्ट्रपति डॉ. सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णन को समर्पित है। एक राजनीतिज्ञ होने के साथ वह एक बेहतरीन शिक्षक, विद्वान और प्रसिद्ध दार्शनिक भी थे। साल 1888 में तमिलनाडू के तिरुत्तनी में 5 सितंबर को ही उनका जन्म हुआ था। डॉट सर्वपल्ली की जन्म वर्षगांठ के उपलक्ष्य में ही यह दिन शिक्षक दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है।

 2   Infant mortality rate is to be reduced to 25 in 2023, a 37.5% drop from 40 in 2013. It is defined as deaths of children under 1 year of age per 1,000 live births. This represents an 80% decline since 1971, when the infant mortality rate was 129. Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh have the highest infant mortality rates at 37. Manipur has the lowest at 3, reflecting better health access.

2023 में शिशु मृत्यु दर घटकर 25 हो गई, जो 2013 के 40 से 37.5% कम है। इसे प्रति 1,000 जीवित जन्मों पर 1 वर्ष से कम आयु के बच्चों की मृत्यु के रूप में परिभाषित किया गया है। यह 1971 के बाद से 80% की गिरावट दर्शाता है, जब शिशु मृत्यु दर 129 थी। मध्य प्रदेश, छत्तीसगढ़ और उत्तर प्रदेश में शिशु मृत्यु दर 37 के साथ सबसे अधिक दर्ज की गई है। मणिपुर में यह सबसे कम 3 है, जो बेहतर स्वास्थ्य पहुँच को दर्शाता है।

 3. India-EFTA FTA (TEPA) to be effective from October 1, 2025. EFTA bloc: Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. Investments expected to be $100 billion over 15 years; 1 million direct jobs in India. India cuts duties on Swiss watches, chocolates and diamonds. First FTA with binding sustainability provisions on labour, rights and environment.

भारत-EFTA FTA (TEPA) 1 अक्टूबर, 2025 से प्रभावी होगा। EFTA ब्लॉक: स्विट्जरलैंड, नॉर्वे, आइसलैंड और लिकटेंस्टीन। 15 वर्षों में 100 अरब डॉलर का निवेश; भारत में 10 लाख प्रत्यक्ष रोजगार का अनुमान। भारत ने स्विस घड़ियों, चॉकलेट और हीरों पर शुल्क में कटौती की। श्रम, अधिकारों और पर्यावरण पर बाध्यकारी स्थिरता प्रावधानों वाला पहला FTA।

 4. Ministry of Education released 10th NIRF rankings; launched by minister Dharmendra Pradhan. IIT Madras retained top spot for seventh consecutive year. IISc Bengaluru ranked first among universities; IIM Ahmedabad tops in management. IIT Roorkee tops in architecture and planning; Jadavpur University best state public university. The rankings cover 17 categories with 360° evaluation parameters.

शिक्षा मंत्रालय ने 10वीं NIRF रैंकिंग जारी की; मंत्री धर्मेंद्र प्रधान ने इसका शुभारंभ किया। IIT मद्रास ने लगातार सातवें वर्ष शीर्ष स्थान बरकरार रखा। IISc बेंगलुरु विश्वविद्यालयों में प्रथम स्थान पर; IIM अहमदाबाद प्रबंधन में शीर्ष पर। IIT रुड़की वास्तुकला एवं योजना में शीर्ष पर; जादवपुर विश्वविद्यालय सर्वश्रेष्ठ राज्य सार्वजनिक विश्वविद्यालय। रैंकिंग में 360° मूल्यांकन मानकों के साथ 17 श्रेणियां शामिल हैं।

 5. Meghalaya Tourism unveils autumn calendar 2025 to showcase culture. Daily concerts, Cherry Blossom Festival are the major events. It includes global artists, kayaking, motorsports and literary dialogues. It aims to boost the local economy, promote talent and eco-tourism. It reinforces Meghalaya's image as a global cultural destination.

 6. Kerala has cleared Senna spectabilis from 383 acres of land in Wayanad. The species, introduced in the 1980s, has now become invasive in the Western Ghats. The dense forests damage soil, suffocate native plants and limit food for wildlife. It is a native of South America, once cultivated for its yellow flowers. Its spread has been seen in Andhra, Goa and Maharashtra; experts urge quick action.

केरल ने वायनाड में 383 एकड़ ज़मीन से सेना स्पेक्टेबिलिस को साफ़ कर दिया है।1980 के दशक में लाई गई यह प्रजाति अब पश्चिमी घाटों में आक्रामक हो गई है। घने जंगल मिट्टी को नुकसान पहुँचाते हैं, देशी पौधों का दम घोंटते हैं और वन्यजीवों के भोजन को सीमित करते हैं। यह दक्षिण अमेरिका का मूल निवासी है, जिसे कभी पीले फूलों के लिए लगाया जाता था। आंध्र, गोवा और महाराष्ट्र में इसका फैलाव देखा गया; विशेषज्ञ जल्द कार्रवाई का आग्रह कर रहे हैं।

 7. The Maharashtra Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has approved labour law changes. Factories Act: Daily hours increased to 12; overtime up to 144 hours/quarter. Shops and Establishments Act: Daily hours 10; overtime 144 hours/quarter. The move is aimed at attracting investments, generating employment and protecting workers' rights.

मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस के नेतृत्व में महाराष्ट्र मंत्रिमंडल ने श्रम कानून में बदलावों को मंजूरी दे दी है। कारखाना अधिनियम: दैनिक घंटे बढ़ाकर 12 किए गए; ओवरटाइम 144 घंटे/तिमाही तक। दुकान एवं प्रतिष्ठान अधिनियम: दैनिक घंटे 10; ओवरटाइम 144 घंटे/तिमाही। इस कदम का उद्देश्य निवेश आकर्षित करना, रोज़गार सृजन करना और श्रमिकों के अधिकारों की रक्षा करना है।

 8. The World Health Organisation has released 'World Mental Health Today' and 'Mental Health Atlas 2024'. More than a billion people suffer from mental disorders; one in every 100 deaths is due to suicide. Two-thirds of cases are of anxiety and depression; young people are most affected. The reports highlight the lack of resources, rising costs and urgent policy needs globally.

विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन ने 'वर्ल्ड मेंटल हेल्थ टुडे' और 'मेंटल हेल्थ एटलस 2024' जारी किया है। एक अरब से अधिक लोग मानसिक विकारों से ग्रस्त हैं; हर 100 में से एक मौत आत्महत्या के कारण होती है। चिंता और अवसाद के दो-तिहाई मामले हैं; युवा सर्वाधिक प्रभावित हैं। रिपोर्टें वैश्विक स्तर पर संसाधनों की कमी, बढ़ती लागत और तत्काल नीतिगत ज़रूरतों को दर्शाती हैं।

 9. Interpol has issued a 'Silver Notice' against Dubai-based Indian drug smuggler Pawan Thakur as he is wanted in a case related to the seizure of 82 kg of cocaine in Delhi. This notice will help in tracing properties acquired from criminal activities. Through the Silver Notice, member countries can obtain information related to the properties linked to a person's criminal activities. This makes it easier to obtain information about any looted property.

इंटरपोल ने दुबई स्थित भारतीय ड्रग तस्कर पवन ठाकुर के खिलाफ 'सिल्वर नोटिस' जारी किया है, क्योंकि वह दिल्ली में 82 किलोग्राम कोकीन की जब्ती से जुड़े एक मामले में वांछित है। यह नोटिस आपराधिक गतिविधियों से अर्जित संपत्तियों का पता लगाने में मदद करेगा। सिल्वर नोटिस के माध्यम से, सदस्य देश किसी व्यक्ति की आपराधिक गतिविधियों से जुड़ी संपत्तियों से संबंधित जानकारी प्राप्त कर सकते हैं। इससे किसी भी लूटी गई संपत्ति के बारे में जानकारी प्राप्त करना आसान हो जाता है।

 10. The Home Ministry has extended the last date for application under the Citizenship Amendment Act to December 31, 2024. This decision will benefit people from minority Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian communities of Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan who have taken refuge in India due to religious persecution. Earlier this date was December 2014.

गृह मंत्रालय ने नागरिकता संशोधन अधिनियम के तहत आवेदन की अंतिम तिथि 31 दिसंबर, 2024 तक बढ़ा दी है। इस फैसले से धार्मिक प्रताड़ना के कारण भारत में शरण लेने वाले अफगानिस्तान, बांग्लादेश और पाकिस्तान के अल्पसंख्यक हिंदू, सिख, बौद्ध, जैन, पारसी और ईसाई समुदाय के लोगों को लाभ मिलेगा। पहले यह तारीख दिसंबर 2014 थी।
