लघु बचत योजनाओं पर ब्याज दरों में 0.1 प्रतिशत की कटौती
सरकार ने लोक भविष्य निधि-पीपीएफ, किसान विकास पत्र-केवीपी और सुकन्या समृद्धि योजना जैसी लघु बचत योजनाओं पर अप्रैल-जून की तिमाही के लिए ब्याज दरों में शून्य दशमलव एक प्रतिशत की कमी कर दी है।
जनवरी-मार्च की तिमाही की तुलना में अप्रैल-जून तिमाही में ब्याज दरों में शून्य दशमलव एक प्रतिशत की कमी की गई है। हालांकि बचत जमा पर ब्याज दर चार प्रतिशत सालाना बरकरार रहेगी।
Small saving schemes interest rates lowered by 0.1%
The government has lowered interest rates on small saving schemes like public provident fund PPF, Kisan Vikas Patra and Sukanya Samriddhi scheme by 0.1 per cent for the April-June quarter.
For April-June, interest rates on small saving schemes have been lowered by 0.1 per cent across the board compared to January-March. However, interest on savings deposits has been retained at 4 per cent annually.

Government clears the way for five new SEZs
The government has approved five proposals, including those of Oracle India and L&T Construction Equipment, for setting up IT special economic zones (SEZs).
These SEZs were given approval by the Board of Approval (BoA), chaired by Commerce Secretary Rita Teaotia, at its meeting on March 8.

Twitter eases 140 character limit, but there is a catch!
Twitter began rolling out changes to let people pack more into tweets, subtracting from the character count names of those being replied to in posts.
The latest software modification at the one-to-many messaging service comes about a year after Twitter set out to relax a 140-character limit set due to mobile phone text messaging constraints in place when Twitter launched in 2006.
