- Indian shooter Manu Bhaker won a gold medal after defeating Thailand’s Kanyakorn Hirunphoem in the final of the women’s 10m air pistol event at the ISSF Junior World Cup in Sydney.
- She won a double gold in senior World Cup in Mexico recently. 16-year-old Manu shot 235.9 points to win, while Hirunphoem had to be contend with silver after scoring 234.9.
- Chinese Kaiman Lu won bronze, she scored 214.2 points. Another Indian shooter, Devanshi Rana finished fourth with 195.3 points.
- Manu, Rana and Mahima Agrawal won gold in team event for India. Xiao, Lu and Li Xue won silver for China. Thailand’s Hirunphoem, Luxciga Srinitivoravong and Warunyapha Kaewngoen took the team bronze.

Ubisoft Opens Two New Studios In Ukraine And India
- The French publisher and developer has announced two brand-new studios that will be located in Mumbai, India and Odesa, Ukraine.
- Like other recent studio openings, the new teams will assist and work in collaboration with Ubisoft studios worldwide on AAA game development. Ubisoft has said they will be looking to grow both in the coming years.
- Ubisoft Mumbai is poised to open this June, and will be the second studio located in the world's second most populated country, joining the previously established Ubisoft Pune.
- Ubisoft Mumbai will specifically be looking to add a massive 100 developers within the next two years, and will partner with the Indian Institute of Technology to research topics with a focus on machine learning and AI. Additionally, the studio is also partnering with Intuit Lab, and has helped create the Game Art Design program, which is said to provide a comprehensive four-year education and training to aspiring game-industry professionals.
- As for Ubisoft Odesa, which has already opened its doors, it will also be a second studio, joining the 10-year-old Ubisoft Kiev.

Jio Music And Saavn To Merge And Create $1bn Entity
- Reliance Industries (RIL) struck a deal to shore up content for its telecom business by merging its digital music company JioMusic with streaming service provider Saavn. The merger will create a $1-billion entity.
- The deal will benefit Reliance Jio, which would get access to a large library of music content. This transaction comes nearly a month after RIL had acquired a 5% stake in media firm Eros International.
- RIL will invest up to $100 million in the new entity, of which $20 million will be invested upfront for growth and expansion of the platform. The company will continue to operate as an over-the-top (OTT) media platform, available in all app stores.
- The three co-founders of Saavn — Rishi Malhotra, Paramdeep Singh and Vinodh Bhat — will continue in their leadership roles and will drive growth of the combined entity.
- JioMusic will also acquire a partial stake from existing shareholders of Saavn for $104 million. Shareholders of Saavn include Tiger Global Management, Liberty Media and Bertelsmann, among others.

- Tata Motors has announced the appointment of Mr. Rajendra Petkar as the 'Chief Technology Officer’ and a member of the Executive Committee (ExCom). Rajendra Petkar will take charge of the new responsibilities effective from 1st April 2018. He has been officiating in this role since November 2017.
- The replacement of Mr. Petkar as the “Head of Power Systems Engineering (PSE)” will be announced in due course.
